We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

I feel stupid for saying it--well, more for feeling it: I'm feeling homesick today and it's partly because it's the Fourth of July, a holiday I've always been kind of ambivalent about. Anyway, have some fun, some fireworks and watch the sunburn for me, while I celebrate my Independence. Maybe I can rustle up some Loyalists in downtown Toronto.

Wish I were there. (Martin Van Buren State Park, Lake Michigan).

Update: Independence Day Chicken!

Another Update: Independence Meat Madness continues. A friend sent me this picture of a Fourth of July steak shaped like Michigan.

yeah, i've never really enjoyed the 4th. i burn crazy easily. nationalism makes me uncomfortable. and in michigan at least, fireworks displays are a fine time for mosquitos to do their business. it's just one of those funny things homesickness does, i guess :)

Because I'm in america and my cousins are american citizens, we celebrated the 4th... we watched a fireworks display, which i though was boring. oh and we celebrated with a bunch of other Filipinos too...

I was born in Canada, and now live in the U.S. Didn't do anything for the 4'th except watch a bunch of episodes of the original Twilight Zone and Outer Limits.

On another note, today marks my grandmother's (on my mother's side) birthday! She was born 103 years ago!
