We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Indigo has always been half sized, which is relatively easy to set up in MS Word and then cut & paste. Issue #17 done and ready to print, but it's a double issue, and I want to make the second part a quarter sized zine. Can anyone offer any advice/tips/techniques? Thanks!

mhh, make your original in fullsize, and use the copier to reduce it by 50%. then paste your pages on the same sheet and go to the copy-shop, cut & fold.

If you're already using your computer, you can check to see if you have MS Publisher. That can be set up for a custom page size booklet pretty easily.

i found a guide here:

i'd also suggest not only folding two pieces of paper, but actually cutting them in half, numbering them and then putting the pieces of paper back together so you can get the logic of the order straight in your head and have something to refer to as you do layout. the hardest part for me is the pagination. since i do cut'n'past layout, i make sure to number the quadrant of the paper i'm pasting onto with a blue pencil. then i don't end up screwing up the final order. usually.

Hmmm...I don't have a copy, but is it online anywhere?

I used the guide in Stolen Sharpie Revolution for how to do a quarter-sized zine. Do you have access to that?
