a place for zinesters - writers and readers
first off i have an idea...probably not an original idea but i was thinking about doing a comp zine about people in their 30s-40s-50s+ still involved with music or art subcultures... (Punk, Raver, Goth, Hip-Hop). i'll be 35 in oh seven days or so and i've been in and around the goth scene for...a long time.
Being in my mid 30s is kinda disconcerting... i cant be the only one going through a Scene-Life Crisis? i spent so many years building who i was partly from being involved with so-called Youth Culture, what happens when you get older and you do more couch potatoing than clubhopping? or are you still in the thick of things but having to deal with being one of the older or oldest people at the show/in your crowd of friends?
what happens when the people you partied with move on from the lifestyle and possibly you?
i should make a post in the comp zine forum threads but only when i have the premise a bit more fleshed out. also i dont feel right starting a new comp zine until i track down and give what i owe (copies of said zine) to the contributors of my last comp zine...ooh i feel like such a heel!
also..i will be at the Brooklyn Zine Fest as a hanger-on/eager zine fan during my post-birthday weekend of awesome in new york city...cant wait <3 !!!
