a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Hello everyone!
I haven't had the chance to contact some of you guys in a long while so I figured now would be a great time to fill you all in on what's going on with me. I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a happy and safe holiday season. I hope this post finds you all doing well. I would also like to apologize for all of the people I said I would mail zines to- right after I made all those plans, a series of accidents happened and my money got tied up in trying to fix things. I really can't put a date on when I'm going to have money for printing and mailing again, so I am very sorry for any inconvenience I might have caused. With that said, I do want to add that I haven't forgot about all of you- you will get zines from me eventually. I will try to make it up one way or the other once I do get them mailed.
I am just about finally done with school. The actual graduation date is sometime in late June. Just to clear things up, I am getting my bachelors in Interior Design. It has taken me way too long to finish school because of a lot of crazy adventures along the way, but I am glad to almost be done, nonetheless. Right now I am taking a break to tie up some loose ends in my life and also to focus on preparing my portfolio- there's a lot of projects going in there
I am up to issue three and am currently working on issue number four, which is coming out spring of 2012. Issue three of my zine, "Impossibles", is getting reviewed in Xerography Debt #30, which is due to come out this coming January. I am pretty excited about this, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good review!
Speaking of personal projects, I also have quite a few art projects going on at once. I've gotten back into making stencils, taking pictures of graffiti, sewing, and origami. My origami pieces have become a bit of an obsession again! This Christmas, I made quite a few origami ornaments for Tim's father to put on their Christmas trees. They were enjoyed by all very much. Right now I am preparing some "modular" origami pieces that explore more than just three dimensional space (figuratively, of course).
I am still with Tim- at the end of February, we will have been together for eight years. Here is another bit of good news- we just might be moving into a condo sometime in late spring, if all goes well. We have had to overcome many challenges, and it has been somewhat of a rough year for Tim especially. We are both looking forward to next year very much, as this has been a goal of ours for a long while now.
I hope to hear from some of you soon! Have a nice day, whenever you get this.
