We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

I know this is meant to be a blog post, but I can only hope that someone reads it.

I am trying to start another mini-zine (my other mini-zine is a perzine called Army of Her) called Grrrl Power and it's all about female empowerment. I feel that with the everyday bombardment by the media, women are feeling more and more isolated as higher and increasingly impossible standards are expected of them, as well as, not being expected to succeed. Really self-contradictory.
Anyway, I would love for anyone who reads this to comment with any ideas, websites and other zines that I can have a look at to inspire me to write the first issue of Grrrl Power.
Also, if anyone wants to contribute with any art or articles, I would be more than happy to take them on :)

Just comment and I'll get back to you.

P.S. Nice to meet you all. My first time using WMZ.

thank you so much. I am friends with Erin of Clemetine Cannibal on Facebook, so I can always talk to her. But thank you so much for the suggestions :) I'm adding you as friend if you don't mind.

Clementine Cannibal writes an amazing perzine called "licking stars off ceilings" which is pretty impossible to read and not feel empowered by. She also edits a zine called "I knew a motherfukcer like you and she said..." where loads of girls contribute and write about things they feel they can't say anywhere else-again, very empowering. Also, Amber who writes "Culture Slut" has just put out a zine about eradicating girl hate, riot grrl, girl empowerment and all those kind of things as part of her "Fight boredom" series. I haven't actually read it yet (although i do believe a copy is already on it's way to me in the post), but if her other zines are anything to go by i think it will be fabulous! There are lots of others, but this should be a good starting point. Hope this helps <3
