a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Hello, first blog post. Well, I already have a blog. It's a tumblr that I'm fairly proud of, however this is my first blog post for WMZ. I'm quite excited to use this thing, and I really want to be able to meet other people around here. Sadly, I'm beginning to think that there's a lack of people in Melbourne/Victoria/Australia who are accustomed to the art that is zine-creation.
I'm currently working on my first issue of "Crash". I've decided it'll be a cross between a perzine and a self-help type thing. I'm also not entirely sure if that will work, but I really want to use my experiences to help other people. That said, I'm not a doctor/psychiatrist/specialist, and will probably have to put a teensy disclaimer on the back somewhere.
Despite the fact that I don't even think very many people use it, I really want to use this website properly. That makes me sad, actually. I want to be able to network with zinesters in my area, but I really don't think there are very many at all. I'm planning on eventually sending my zines to the Sticky Institute, because how fucking awesome would that be? To have my self-published stuff for sale in a quaint little place in the city? I think it would be. I guess.
I should really study for my Chemistry Exam tomorrow.
