a place for zinesters - writers and readers
'Confessions of a Type 40' started out as a perzine, originally titled 'Confessions of a Type 4' (Type 4 Personality on the Enneagram). Early in planning the layout, my father suggested to change 'Type 4' to Type 40' because I wanted to make the cover look similar to the TARDIS from Doctor Who, complete with customized door instruction.
So the first, er, zero'th issue is a perzine, containing most of the poems and anecdotes I've written when I was inspired over the past decade. This issue, however, does contain ONE Doctor Who-related haiku. It also contains a short story inspired by me, written by a friend.
I had another friend ask me if they could contribute writings to future issues. At that moment, I knew the zine can be more than a perzine. It can be a hub for Whovians to have their Doctor Who-inspired writings published.
This is my first time making a zine, so I've a lot of learning about publishing within the Papernet. No better way than to jump right in and create something. Allons-y!
