Eyeformation {printed in Art Bureau 16}

Eyeformation's latest project is CITY BIRDS—a flock of colorful birds inhabiting an installation/mural created by the artist and other participants.

The project began in the summer of 2007, when the first CITY BIRD illustrations found their way on skateboard decks designed by the artist. Soon after, the birds were being constructed from recycled and found wood as two standard shapes—one with the wings down and the other with the wings spread wide. Each bird has detailed black lines created with an intricate wood burning technique. The birds are then colored with an opaque enamel paint.

The concept of CITY BIRDS continues to expand, and a new DIY (do-it-yourself) blank template is available for anyone to adapt his or her concept to the CITY BIRD shape. Participants can find a blank template in Art Bureau 16's lettered edition, or visit Eyeformation's / City Birds website. A few CITY BIRDS will be selected for a limited-edition die-cut sticker pack. So, don't forget to mail yours in.
