We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

I'm thinking maybe I need to do a zine about menopause...tried to find out if there were others who make zines who are going through this madness....I don't even know if it matters.

Tomorrow is/has to be better than how I feel now.   I don't want to feel this way for years and years more of this place.

Menopause sucks.   I can't take anything to make it better, all the stuff either doesn't touch this or I'm alergic to it....I just want to make it stop already.

Yep...thinking this might be something worth doing.  If for no other reason that it's something productive out of the mess my body chemistry has been in for too long!!!

It's the kicker of menopause.  You don't know until it's here and by then, well, you get to find out.  Your sister is among the lucky ones who don't have to go through this.

There are several women in my family, and none of them had the same experience.  I have one sister who is like you sister and there were no symptoms at all.  My mother didn't have any problems with it, but had horrible pregnancies, which she figures she paid her dues in all those pregnancies, there were 11 total.  She had two miscarriages, and one of my sisters died when she was 4 days old.  Mom bled for almost the whole nine months.   I tend to agree with her view of why she never had problems with menopause.

Thank you for the kind words by the way, but it is what it is.   I do finally get the jokes I used to hear women make about menopause.   For years I never understood why these women who had this wild twinkle in their eye were telling crazy jokes.  I do now, they were giving each other humor because when your emotions go sideways and you just want to punch holes in walls, or you get so depressed that you start thinking about suicide more than you think about getting dressed, or you memory keeps trying to go on vacation and take reality with it and leave you with the bills,...well, humor is an anchor when you don't know who you are anymore because you arn't who you were before it started.

That would be interesting. I don't know what to expect. My sister was just told that she her doctor told her she is through it and she didn't even notice if you can believe it. She's always had a charmed life.  If history tells me anything it means I will have the opposite experience. She is 4 years older than me.

I'm sorry it has been so bad for you. It would be neat to hear people's stories about it.
