We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Poems written in late November  2011

Comments welcome.

[poem notes in brackets like this]

1 (start of an adventure for sure)

Come with me!

Come with me!

There is magic

2 (where the night comes from)

The underground

in grottos and caves

holds the night

till twilight arrives.

Then it's released

and flies away

like a sheet

carried on wings.

3 ("Mars Warning Sign" from my Sci-Fi book "Writings in Science")

On Mars your lips

fade into the background

and you'll rue the day

you have to spot

strawberry jam

spilt in the dust.

We live on a boat

without a captain

and yet the sea

has a current.

5. (deep sleep)

Nothing that was

can then still be

until I awake

or begin to dream.

6. (Kid's poem)

Sleep... Sleep...

and slip away;

but brother claims

it's here I stay.

He took a photo

to prove I remain.

"Pix can be fixed

and these are fake!

Cause when I'm asleep

I slip away!"

I'm out on a limb on my family tree!

Corporations have institutionalized greed almost to the point where the rest of us can't oppose it.

Assault and Pepper (slogan for the protestors)

It's not just Selfish Genes, it's selfish genes, organelles, cells, organisms, species, and ultimately selfish life!

Don't skirt the issues you should be addressing (advised the couturier)
