Write as yourself. I think people respond to a genuine voice. Something that doesn't sound affected or provocative, but honest. A person's voice. I think that's the key to making a connection, not coming up with a voice, but using your voice.

I'm not very verbose either when it comes to my personal writing, so I understand how it can feel. But I believe that as long as a feeling is expressed, it has substance, no matter how many/few words.

And for finishing things, I think a lot of it has to do with confidence. Insecurity and doubt have you waste time worrying and seeking reassurance. So you have to do what you like and find ways to remind yourself that you like what you're creating.

Writing isn't the only form of expression. Try cutting up a magazine or take to your zines with permanent markers (my 'I'm stuck and trying to get out' art tool of choice).Getting 'the zine' out of your mind and freeing yourself to different modes of expression could be just what you need.
