aaargh modern technology!

can anyone give me some advice on using acrobat professional?

i've got a pdf of not afraid of ruins #2, and i'm trying to get it small enough to easily email to people/upload to websites. originally it was 250 mb and the pages were huge. i went back and resized the individual scanned pages in photoshop to make them A4 sized, and then compiled all of them into a pdf in acrobat. somehow, that made it even bigger, so version 2.0 is about 800 mb. i've tried the 'reduce file size' option but it comes out super pixelated and unreadable.

i have no idea why, coz every other zine i've scanned came out under 20 mb, and i always follow the same process.

any advice? could it be the scanner? is there a different application i should be using?
