a place for zinesters - writers and readers
As part of Southend Fringe Festival 2010, Noisy! presents a screening of DIY American film A Hundred Dollars and a T-Shirt: A Documentary About Zines in the Northwest US directed by Microcosm publishing’s Joe Biel. With a focus on the fanzine community in the USA and particularly the city of Portland, Oregon, the film aims to answer questions including what is a zine, why people make them and what the future holds for zines, through interviews with writers and visits to shops, symposiums, resource centres and libraries. With a running time of around 80 mins, this film will open your eyes to a cultural phenomenon that may just inspire you to create your own zine!550 members
