We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

high on burning photographs #4, out now!

this one’s about sobriety & betrayal, singlehood, the bizarre ways that ACT-UP inadvertantly trickled into my suburban childhood, tough girls, wacky stories, inspiration & a whole lot more. here is the first page of the intro, as a teaser:

t’s going to be $1, or two stamps, or a trade, via the USPS. i love trades! zines, mix tapes, smiling vegetables, candy, etc.

if you’re in pittsburgh, just ask & i’ll give you one.

i don’t take paypal, so send stamps/well concealed cash to:

hello Ocean!
i read your zine (by coincidence, #4) a few days ago and i like it very much! i got it from Cindy Crabb's distro, along with other very good zines ;) .

i had already read another of your zines, a couple of months ago, when i ordered «it's not the end of the world!: building a life with limp wrists» from Click Clack Distro. this zine is unique, i'd never heard about a zine focusing on carpal tunnel syndrome or any other similar diseases, and i ordered it because i've suffered from tendinitis once, and i used to get really bad pains on my wrists while at my previous job. "unfortunately" for me, computers/keyboards/mouses are part of my everyday life, so if i ever get another job working with these, i'll have to find a way not to force my body that much, maybe using some of the advices you give on the zine.
thank you so much for such great zine(s)!!

Hey Ocean! This is Erica, we met at that Carnegie Library zine reading a few months ago. I'm starting a distro (well, have started, but right now it is very small) and want to get some Pittsburgh zines in it. I liked HOBP #3 (that I picked up there), would you like to have this one distroed? Let me know!

Also, there really needs to be some kind of Pittsburgh zinesters' get-together, I have lived here for four years and can count the zinesters I've met on one hand. I know there is somewhat of a scene afoot.
