We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Hi. My name is Leif, and I write a zine about cassette tapes. Mostly punk and metal tapes, as that is where the tape scene is thriving the most right now. I just put out my first issue. Let me know if you want to order or trade a copy. My store envy will be up soon. Yadda yadda yadda.

I still release DIY tapes...mostly crust/grind/punk... would you be interested in some trade:? I am more than curious about your zine...

The title of the post is sort of a joke. I know that tapes are alive and well. My zine is all about documenting tapes in the DIY music scene.
Any suggestions for SE Asian tape labels or bands with tapes to seek out?

Tapes are very much still a thing... at least here in my country and Southeast Asia...

many touring bands through the Bay carry tapes as a medium. Besides punk and metal like you listed but also noise artists.

I also heard rumors that in poorer countries like in the Eastern Bloc people still use tapes since most people didn't have the extra money to "upgrade" to cd's.
