a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Looking around I see that I'm not the only one with this problem.
One of the biggest thing keeping me from actually publishing my first zine (other than the fact that I can't draw a lick, and am afraid nobody wants to read pages of my rambling without a pretty picture attacked) instead of just talking about it is....My inability to settle on a title.
I was going to go with "YummY! Down" which has been my blog for many years. But vetoed that.
I did a mini-zine I called Randomized. I actually did make a few copies before I realized it sucked and should never be touched by eyes other than my own. Then ditched that title.
Funny thing is I have the PERFECT title for the lit zine I hope to do one day. But I don't want to work on it until I've had some practice with my perzine.
I've been jotting title ideas down on the back of an old check stub.
Maximum Toothbrush
Distress Signals
Wrong Kind of Happy
I've been randomly hopping page to page at zinewiki to try to get some more creative ideas, but keep drawing a blank....

It's hard to choose a title without knowing what the zine is about. I recommend something kind of vague, though, to encompass what you may right in other issues. I like Wrong Kind of Happy a lot. Rory's comment is good. You could also right down a bunch of words that sum up your feelings and then mix them up.

P.S. How could anyone not love "Maximum Toothbrush" !? I might snap up a zine called that just for the title.
