Two years ago I decided to put together a compilation zine that celebrated loving your body. A place where people could share stories, rants, and artwork about body image. I was very excited about the feedback I received from the first issue. It felt good to be part of something that people found both comforting and uplifting.… Continue

I am currently working on some content for the second issue of the compilation project: FAT-TASTIC. Submissions have been rolling in and I am super excited about how it is all coming together. I am waiting on an interview to wrap-up next weekend and then we should be ready to print!
Since I have not started laying the material out, I have room for one or two more submissions focusing on body positive stories, rants, diy tutorials that pertain to the theme, etc. I have also received… Continue

I opened up Sweet Candy Distro in 2004 with a passionate drive to help zine writers spread the word about their writing & projects. The passion I had 6 years ago is still burning brightly today. Since day one I have always had a links page to help promote other distro owners, blog writers, etsy shops, diy/grassroot organizations and now I want to take it up a notch!
I’ve decided to transform my links page into a…

Tattooed Memoirs #7
$1/ 24 pages/Quarter size
My intro describes the ridiculous self-censorship that I put myself
through while writing this issue. Thankfully, I was able to work
through it. Issue 7 of Tattooed Memoirs is about my deep love for
tattoos and working in the tattoo industry, but the bitterness I feel
now. It’s a peek into my life while working in…

Happy Winter Sweet Candy friends!
It's been awhile since I have sent out distro updates. Did you think I disappeared? No way! My son was born in August so I've been quite busy with a baby, homeschooling my daughters, as well as rockin' the work-at-home mama status. I decided to re-organize the distro and start fresh. Perfect timing with the New Year coming up fast.
No major changes, just asking for extra patience when you send me your zine for review. My goal is to get… Continue

I am trying to raise some funds to help a local family pay for their grandson's funeral. Actually, many people in my local community are doing various fundraisers for this family. I will be donating a percentage of Sweet Candy orders this weekend, it is the best way I know I can help financially.
This little boy was being raised by his grandparents and was only 6 years old. He just graduated from Kindergarten. He suffered permanent injuries from a car accident that he was in last… Continue

A few months ago I posted that I was closing down my zine library and that I was selling the zines from my collection (for postage only!) to other zine libraries. Well every flat rate envelope and box that I packed was purchased! Last weekl my wonderful friend from Philly sent me three boxes slammed full of zines from the physical library location that I ran there two years ago so I am back to square one with lots of zines for any zine libraries that may be interested.
Flat rate… Continue
