Hey, just in case you're in the northwest area and you're not aware, PZS starts tomorrow at 2:30. We're driving down in the morning and will be there all three days. We've managed to gather manymany great things that are not on the distro: new isssues of Funwater Awesome, issues of Mend My Dress, a new Olympia zine about DIY culture and building community, the olympia punk paper Nuts, a bunch of buttons, a zine/paper that's all interviews with Swedish punk/hardcore bands and comes with a cd and… Continue

This month's distro update is up- with new things, restocks, mp3's, video links and plenty of news. Though, to avoid adding in its many links again, I will just direct you to our myspace, where all links are already properly in place. Check it here!
You could also just join our mailing list and we'd simply send it to you every month. Let us know if that interests you:… Continue

We just started carrying Captian Heather Comics
, which is totally wonderful zine that you should check out.
More along the lines of a graphic novel than a comic zine, Captain Heather Comics is stories from the life of Ms. Heather Dunn. All stories within are completely charming and written with the grace and wit that not many zinesters have just yet. Wonderful… Continue

We are real excited because this Sunday is our first event! If you are in/near/around/passing through the Olympia area, you should come! It goes something like this:
: Alexis Wolf (reading from her new issue of… Continue

Just noticed that there are only a few issues left of the first issue of Basic Paper Airplane
and thought I'd put that fact out there. It comes with a totally weird mix CD and a fully functional paper airplane.
Also noticed that we're also down to our last copy or two of:
Ilse Content #6… Continue

So, while the options are limited on what you can do with a blogger page, we did some layout work to try to make the distro easier to read/use, a little prettier... Any thoughts? Anything you'd like to see?
I 've been wondering if people would like it better if the side links were separated by what type of thing they are (zine, handmade book, cd, tape, record), or if that would just get jumbled and confusing.
Would love to hear what people think. Thanks! -MVP/JJ...… Continue

(or home zine libraries/personal zine libraries), I realize I have a fair amount of quite good zines in multiple copies that I don't distro and I'm a little unsure what to do with. I've donated to all the local zine libraries, so thought I'd throw it out there that, if anybody wanted an envelope of random zines to add to their collection, I would totally send an envelope like that yr way. I would just need a couplefew dollars for shipping. It would probably be 5 or so zines...let me know if… Continue

We at the Ms Valerie Park Distro are headed to Boulder, Co in the morning to attend this weekend's Utne Reader awards ceremony because our very own Ariel Birks got nominated for Zine of the Year for Jesus Christ Superzine
! Kinda weird, we're totally going to be the only zinesters at the thing, but how often do you get invited such a thing? For us, not very often. We'll keep y'all posted on the… Continue

Ilse Content is one of my favorite zines. It has been around for six years and someday should get put in book form like Doris, Invincible Summer, or Cometbus- it's just as good as any of those. Until that day comes, we have a new issue out to satisfy our hungers. It just came out this week and I just put it up on the distro, you should check it out:

...are (finally) being added. And more on their way.
I've been a little confused on how to go about shipping charges and have been doing this $2 flat rate (in the U.S.) that allows people to buy as much as they want and it will just be two bucks of shipping, which seemed great for people who wanted two records, a cd, and a zine, but kinda sucked when someone just wanted one zine. So, now there's no shipping on zines and the price just kind of includes shipping. It's hard to keep the super… Continue
