August Feature of the Month: 8-Track Mind!

A few weeks ago I got the pleasure of being in Chicago for the first time and, as is required of a zine enthusiast, spending my first extended period of time at Quimby's, the legendary bookstore that carries more zines than any retail location I've ever seen. After being… Continue

Distro Update for July

These days, the Ms Valerie Park Distro is glamorously operating from many different locations at once. We’re in Olympia packing orders and stocking shelves and (at the same time!) out on the road doing paperwork and responding to emails. It makes us feel big, grand even. But we’re trying to not let…

The Great American Zine Novella

Forgot to mention this: the first six issues of Without Words & Without Kneeling have been compiled into one giant awesome zine! It's great. As far as what it is, it's like this...

"Tomas Moniz (Rad Dad creator and editor) has been doing something unprecedented of late- a serialized novella in zine form. Not your standard zine fare. It's a story unveiled…

Etsy- Now with more pictures! Page numbers! Sizes!

Due to popular demand, our dearest distro employee, Chask'e, got to work and entered a bunch more information for most of the 75 zines we have on Etsy (and some of the books, as well). Included now is: number of pages! zine sizes! inside images! some back covers, even! All of which might give you a better…

Almost Gone!

Just realized there's a long list of things about to go out of print and/or out of stock and maybe a little 'last chance warning' was in order. There were so many I forewent the descriptions and just provided links, please forgive my haste.

Etsy Sale

I've been looking for an excuse to use one of those coupon codes on Etsy for a while now and I guess being on the verge of our 500th sale on there is a good enough one. So, until the end of the month, you get 15% off any purchase, whenever you use the code below.

When we started it last year, I thought it would just be a few extra sales, so it's been a wonderful surprise. Thanks.…

Gardening zine recommendations?

Hey, thought I'd ask again this year since didn't find anything last time around: anyone know of/make a good zine on gardening? I'm a big gardener and would really love to distro a good guide. I find the books out there are a little intimidating to the beginner, so I've always thought it'd be a good place for a zine to step up to the job, but have yet to find something.

The second issue of Bridget Irish and Hannah Horovitz's "Hair" is here!

Hair is one of the most interesting zines around. Using only the subject of human hair as a premise, they create a wonderfully interesting and drop dead gorgeous zine. Then they only make a few and they sell out and become collector's items (at least that's my guess as to what they're doing). Last issued they peaked everyone's interest by interviewing Tobi Vail of Bikini Kill fame…

Now on the Facebook

After continual prodding from distro friends, we broke down and did it: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ms-Valerie-Park-Distro/129344460466581

We just started it a few minutes ago, so nobody likes it or friends or whatever happens on the Book, so hey, maybe you could go and check it out and click a button?

And, as you may be able to tell, we don't otherwise use Facebook and have little idea about…
