Truck Museums (from the Musea Zine Vaults)

This from the Musea Vaults: TRUCK MUSEUMS

The idea is simple enough - takte the paintings to the people, instead of the people traveling to the musty museums. But these are not the original paintings. These are exact copies on canvas - same size, color, brushstrokes, etc.. That can be done now. The reproduction technology is THAT GOOD. Here's the test to prove it. Put up the original and 4 exact size copies in the same frame. If viewers can't pick out the original - the paintings are… Continue

Musea Weekly Quiz for the Quizzicality in all of us

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of:

Tough times for magazine and newspaper publishers, but some magazines are doing pretty good. This question is about Art magazines. What art magazine has the largest circulation in the US? Clue, It's not Art News, or Art in America!

IS

Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine. This covers the very popular lowbrow, or pop surrealism, or as I call it "Poppy" art. It's a lot of fun - check out a copy of this or… Continue

Picolla (Xmas story - beware it's touching)

Piccola

(Musea version of a poem by Celia Thaxter. Note it was the custom for St. Nick to leave a present in the child's shoe. Piccola = pick-o-la)

Poor Mother, poor Father, house maid and share cropper

and both pockets empty, except for due bills.

What can they get their little girl for Christmas.

"Piccola! Piccola! Love of my life!"

Father wrings hands and mother cries.

The bells ring carols as the family walks to church.

A snowflake falls on Piccola's…

Musea weekly art Quiz

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of:

This question is a visual puzzle. You must go to my blog first and see my painting titled "Past and Future" that features a statue from the past, and a very futuristic Moon Maiden.

Here's the painting:

this week's mind bender, puzzler, quiz - not for women with vapors

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of:

Look up starving artist in a dictionary, and you'll likely see a picture of Vincent Van Gogh. During his painting decade - he only painted for about 10 years tops (1880's) - he had little money, and all that came from his brother Theo (though for the life of me, I don't get it - Theo worked in a GALLERY and never got his Brother's work SHOWN IN THE GALLERY!) Well I divulge. Let's continue. There was one thing that…

Quatros - fourth group

Here’s the fourth group of Quatros

Thick ice

thaws slowly

Great doubts,

deep wisdom.

Muddy water,

hidden stones.

Heaven doesn’t

fear evil.

Dark evil?

Wear white.

My life,

dew drop.

Revenge sip,

compassion gulp.

Poor

even in dreams.

Foolish butterfly

fears snow.

Before principles

comes courage.

Pray alone,

true stories.

Tossed

over the wall.

Be…
