Wow, I wish we could get the hang of this keeping-up-to-date-on-social-media thing...
Anyway folks, we still exist; what's more, January 1st marks the 2nd Anniversary of our existence! To celebrate we're having a sale. Get a free zine for every $10 of zines you order in the merry month of January! Simply nominate the zine/zines you'd like in the 'note to merchant' field when checking out of Paypal. They're having a zine exhibition tonight, featuring Fayroze Lutta (Chiaroscuro) and Emma Markala (Dept. of Forgiving) among many others. We'll be there with a table of zines! Earlwood is easy to get to - just catch a 423 or 412 comin' from the city, or get a train to Bardwell Park station (though you'll have to walk up a rather large hill if you choose that option).
60 Earlwood Ave, Earlwood (the old police station, next door to the Earlwood Hotel on the corner of…

Hey folks, usual apologies re: tardiness and lack of presence in zine land etc...
Today, despite extreme amounts of non-zine relatated activities that still need doing, we have updated the site with a stack of new zines and comics.
Check it out! x

Natalie von Catalie and Maddy Phelan are organising this great event. If you're a zine maker under the age of 25 you might wanna help out. Here's the blurb they sent us. Best of luck with this, Natalie & Maddy x

Well, I wholly failed to put the details of yesterday's Blacktown zine fair on this here blog. Anyway, the chances are that if you are an Australian zine enthusiast you're in Adelaide for Format, and wouldn't have been able to come...
So, it was a very small fair but great nonetheless, with a nice relaxed vibe and lots of friendly people to chat with. We sold a whole lot of zines. I'm going to do another zine post on Flying Machine soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
Thanks to…

Thanks to everyone who has ordered in the last couple of weeks, too! It's been busy, and good. Goodly busy.
I've also been doing more zine recommendation posts at
Flying Machine, if that's of any interest to anyone.
Over and out, for now

We just bought a percolator, and three cups of coffee later I'm certainly awake, but still don't have time to do the million things for the take care site that need doing. At last count there were about 20 items whose descriptions need to be added (only a few of which are actually written), about half of which are for items that are entirely new and not on the site yet. Insane! But never fear, when Tim gets home from work this afternoon we're going to start work on it, so by mid next week,…

To everyone who came along to the stall on Saturday! We sold quite a lot of stuff - enough to pay some folks up front for a whole lot more zines for the distro. Huzzah!
Thanks also to everyone who has ordered from the site since it opened. I've spent the last hour or so fixing spelling mistakes and evening out some inconsistancies on the catalogue pages. Huzzah again! The next step is to sloooowly start adding buttons for international purchases...

Howdy,
As we've mentioned in numerous other locations, we're going to take a bunch of stuff up to the Newtown Markets (aka diy markets, outside The Hub). So, Sydneysiders, come and check out some zines! Unless it rains, of course. zines and wet weather don't mix. So, that's:
Take Care Distro's first stall!
Saturday 16th Jan 2010
diy markets, Newtown, Sydney
