Finished the zine section of my site.

Since quitting my job in February, I have really begun to miss web design and development. There is just something so appealing to me about spending 8 hours staring at HTML, CSS and jQuery.

That said, I spent this morning and afternoon adding a zine section to my portfolio site. I think it looks pretty good!

CHECK IT OUT.

Waiting for my printing contact to come back so I can make copies of Delusion #2. I'm waffling between… Continue

This blog post will be updated whenever a distro writes a description for one of my zines, or someone writes a review. If you've read my zine and would like to write something for me to post here, let me know - it would make me very happy!

Issue 4.

In my own words:

This issue of my perzine is loosely based around lists of 4. I write about…

My zine, mélange, and what the hell I was thinking.

Heh, I'm a turd. After doing not very much promotion of mélange #2, I've started work on mélange #3. Yeah, the mood found me. I feel more confident about, well... myself, what I want to say, and how I want to say it.…

Zines about music, being in band, that kind of thing.

Hey zinesters,

Just wanted to share that my band NIghtwood is thinking of embarking on a wee zine project and we've set up a poll to gather your opinions as to what we should write about.

We posted a blog about this today called We (heart) zines, do you? There's also info about a zine making workshop in Montreal that's happening over at the Ste. Emilie Skillshare… Continue

Hello all! I've written a new Examiner article! This time I dive into the how-to world of how to make a zine. Obviously, we all know that there is no right or wrong way to make a zine, but hey, there are lots of people out there who don't think so!…

together we will conquer

just finished mélange #2. can't believe how much energy i've put into this one. it's nothing like what i pictured when i first started, and i'm tickled by what this might say about how the "creative process" works. thinking about where my head has been while making it is making me feel very tired. gonna sit on it for a bit, clear my mind. hope to have it in print and circulating in a couple of… Continue

have i told you where i've been, and the things that really matter?

I won't lie, I'm still buzzing from the single launch. Months of sincere effort has now produced something to be proud of. Although, when I say "effort", I mean I just rocked up when I was supposed to when I was supposed to. DJ NU put in the real hard yards, and I'm so grateful to have been a part of it.… Continue

oh wow, a whole section on blogs?

Hah. Spot the Ning noob. Only just found this entire section for blog posts. Woopsie.

Spose I should write a little bit in here. Been working on mélange #2. Almost 2/3 of the way through - hoping to have it finished in the next couple of months. Yeah, I know that's slack, but I like to take my time with zine projects - put some thought into them. Don't know if that comes across, particularly when the iterations of editing result in something minimal. But I suppose art is like a… Continue

My Zine is Now a Book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that is correct. The Silk City Series is now a book, being published by Knickerbocker Circus Publishing, a small press out of Astoria, NY.

It's a collection of stories about the everyday lives of working-class people in the city of Paterson, New Jersey. The book has already garnered praise from publications such as Maximum Rock n Roll Magazine, who said "...the presentation is very beautiful and put together with an eye for the antique, forgotten, miserable and… Continue

some olde reviews just to pass the time and revive the blogosphere

Z Gun – a yankee newsprint old school zine in a new world that had a great word up with Mike Doskocil about Drunks With Guns, has heaps of reviews for bands I’ll probably never hear cos I’m flat broke but has plenty of spirit, guts and leaves black ink on yr fingers. What more could you need in this new world of blogs and glossy personal zines and shite. I got mine from Big Star here in Adelaide which surprised the fuck out of me but then the world is getting’ smaller.… Continue

Bringing More Wrong

I can tell that somewhere deep inside me I've already begun "Good Night, Cephalopod." I've already got the text and have been kind of stuck on the drawings--and distracted by life. But I'm getting that drawing feeling. This will be my second zine done entirely in colored pencil.

punks is hippies - the blog!

this website is awesome! it's 'sort of' a zine archive, mostly into punk zines.

they have lots of old zines, back from the 90s and 80s, but they also have some "contemporary" (aka 2000s) zines.

though i'm not that much into punk, it's amazing the work these guys are doing in scanning old zines and making them available online for… Continue
