a place for zinesters - writers and readers
So yeah, we finally finished issue nine of 'The Screever' zine; it's 56 black and white A6 pages featuring interviews with Bristol indie-rock / RiotGrrrl punks IDESTROY, comic writer Dan Barnes of DEAD BRIDE COMICS, Jamie Brewer of skate collective GNARGORE, fantasy zine illustrator BODIE H., and local Stourbridge hardcore kids UNHINGED. Plus a bunch of reviews, a couple of recipes, puzzles, stencils, and a guide to making a…Continue

I picked up a zine the other night and it brought to mind an issue I have thought about a lot over the years: overpricing of zines. Now, people do zines for a variety of reasons and that matters to how they price them. What has bothered me over the last few years are the number of people who seem to be treating zines as "art" and themselves as artists rather than people who make zines. As such, they are generally uninterested in others zines, won't do trades, and charge far more than…Continue
I hope the year treated you well. I look forward to a new year of courage, motivation and determination to stay healthy and creative. I'll be hosting an urban soul farmer workshop at Bakersfield College in February. I've decided to come out with an Urban Soul Farmer zine to give out at the college.

I've been very busy lately, but I am able to keep up with the zine library project and I was finally able to tag and display all the zines that the good people here have been sending me.
For anybody that hasn't already seen, there is a community zine library project started in downtown Tallahassee, Fl.
At the moment, I've got about 17 zines, but I know that we can stock way more.
So please, donate to the…Continue

I finally earned my degree in Environmental Science and the battery of guest and relatives visiting for the occasion has only just begun to slow down.
BUT I'M BACK!!! And I'm excited to get back to working on the zine library, getting it catalogued and displayed.
I need to go by the mail box, but I'm pretty certain I have enough zines to begin the show, and we're always accepting donations.

“Paws Up!” is a brand new zine that focuses on all things cats: the human connection with them, how great they are, how much they sleep, that cute little thing they do that you’re convinced no other cat ever does, and everything else embodying why cats are so great.
I loved this book to death when I was making zines and I think it's time to pass it on to someone else. If you're interested just message me or reply to this post! First one to reach out gets the book :)
I am posting because I am currently looking to swap rooms with a creative, low-maintenance person who can get along with a house full of musicians, artists, and fellow zine-makers. I currently live in Oakland, CA and am dying to get out of the bay area mid-May or in June. Duration maybe 2 weeks to a month, depending on your schedule too. Our house is conveniently located near several public transportation stops and we host shows once or twice a month. Spacious backyard, shared…Continue

I had two never-before-seen zines to bring with me to the Sheffield Zine Fest (photos of the festival coming later in the week). Issue 22 was new, whereas issue 14 has a bit of a history. I made no. 14 a few years ago, mislaid the pages, found them again last year and finished some bits off, made a few copies, mislaid them again moving house and then found them again recently. Now they're safe in a folder with all my other…Continue

Have you heard about this? There is a group of us planning Olympia's FIRST zine fest! Even though it isn't until October 2015, we currently have an Indiegogo campaign going on where you can order your table at a presale price! We need to raise money by April to secure our venue. So, it's crucial we meet our goal.
Please, for the love of zines & the PNW, share our campaign, donate if you can, come to the fest! Help…Continue
I used to go to Austria quite a lot to run workshops in schools, travelling from school to school each week. I started writing this zine after my first trip to Vienna in 2010, didn't finish it, and then finished it off a couple of years later. I made a few copies at the time, but then mislaid the pages again when moving house, so barely anyone has read it. I recently found them again,…Continue

Keepin’ The Ape Drape Alive:
Starting 1980 outta Huntington Beach, CA is The Vandals! One of the most recognizable bands in punk. They are survivors of the 1980’s hard core scene who managed to stay punk and not just give up, even after the exit of founding vocalist Stevo Jensen. Along with being a legendary band, they also appeared in the punk rock favorite…Continue
