First of all, this is my first blog post on this site as I'm new here, so for anyone reading this thanks for giving me a chance! I guess the zine experience is really all about finding out about different philosophies and/or opinions on a huge range of subjects, which really is what makes them generally quite personal, but I understand that there are a lot of zines and related blogs out there so thanks for taking the time to read what I have to say… Continue

For the longest time I've been complaining about how there wasn't a zine scene here in Florida. So this week I decided to actually do something about it. I think that there needs to be a place like the IPRC and Boxcar Books here in Florida. There needs to be a space where people can just go to write or do art, and to make copies. I got two friends together and I pitched the idea, and they agree so we've started the process of incorporating, and when that's done we're going to file for tax… Continue

i think this is the best way to keep track of when & who i send the zines to. if you bought a copy or we arranged a trade, check this post...
everyday that i ship copies of Ladybug #1, i'll list the first name and the state or country they went to. that way you can look here to find out when your order or trade went out.

List #14 is finished and at the printer! I'll have it back within a week, ready to mail out.
If you'd like to "pre-order" (give me a headstart on addressing envelopes and help me feel like i'm making back some of the printing costs upfront) you can do that now!
I'll ship out "pre-orders" the first week of September. I'm looking for more distros to work with as… Continue

'Larry' issue three is A5, 32 pages, black and white, and as always printed on recycled paper (though this time it's 120gsm paper as oppose to 80, so it's a little heavier...). Each copy is hand-tied, numbered, and has a little window cut out of a cartridge paper cover, this time using a sharper scalpel, but with a rather crooked ruler.
Content in this issue includes friendships, promiscuity, visual identity, a guide to the drawing technique of sgraffito, and a bunch of other… Continue

So I've been reading zines and had it in my head that I wanted to make one for years. And today I finally sat down and started to do it. I had my glue stick. I had all the stuff I had written and wanted to include.
Then I freaked out. I got scared that I would mess it up and it would turn out horrible. Finally I got over myself and started making it, but I am scared that it won't be good.
Will someone reassure me that it doesn't have to be perfect? What was your first zine… Continue

It hasn't been easy, what with power cuts, computer viruses and more, but we are finally laying out the first issue of the monthly art zine The Art Pages.
It's such an important venture for artists here in Zambia who are so talented but little known. Now is their chance to share their talents, as they are the writers and producers of the zine. I have been helping them with promotion and can honestly say I am proud to be part of this… Continue
