Begin here.  I set my thermostat to 82 degrees, and listen to my daughter breathe at night.

 

It is an odd thing to miss you.  The stillness that I feel inside myself has a quality that I cannot name.  Now it’s bitter.  Now it’s sweet.  The taste is all iron and cardamom deep inside my mouth.

 

It’s been a strange year.

this house smells like old coffee
and something else-
some cross between dirty
women's underwear
and dinners i let burn
... before i threw away.
i am rarely there; i leave
the windows open all day
everyday.  walk through the door.
vanish into bed each night.

I can't believe how long it's been since I updated things here. Since I last added photos or wrote, I've provided illustrations for a reading of "Herbert West, Re-Animator" at Monster Island Resort Podcast. (You can look and listen here: http://0316bfc.netsolhost.com/blog/?p=923). I had some of them made into postcards, which I'm selling at my Etsy shop.

I'm hoping to be able to start making more Monstress again, now…

2 monsters of the 4 four i'm drawing for the Lucky Creature Attacks coloring book. (also, i've gotten the procrastination back on track--no more organizing the cleaning products. it's all movies and videogames and farting around).…

So yesterday I planned on working on the monster drawings I am going to submit to the coloring book issue of Lucky Creature Attacks. i just laid out the first 6 pages of All Things Ordinary #1. This is a big night for me because this will be my first zine since March of 2004. This is also my first quarter sized zine. Thus far, i have done 2 full sized, one half legal size, and one half size zine (in that order). I doubt i will ever make another full sized zine, but i really liked the half size and half legal size formats.
