Better, drawn is a new place for people to share stories about long-term and chronic mental and physical illnesses, told in the form of short comics. The site is a way for people to share experiences that might otherwise be difficult to talk about openly. In fact, we think that sometimes things can be said better when they’re drawn; hopefully, these comics might help some people… Continue

Hi! I am working on the latest edition of The Flaneur, an indie culture paper/zine. If anyone has any short articles they would like to submit, on art, culture, humour then please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org . We're also looking for reviews, poems or short stories. We like to publish a couple of articles that are not in English, so if you have any in any foreign language that would also be great. But mainly English!

Mine and your zine Absent Eyes will be about How-to advice for low budget DIY projects, found art and pictures/notes, random or strange stories, or anything that strikes you as really funny or odd! I am taking submissions for the first issue at email@example.com [the zine size is half page 8.5/5.5] P.S. let me know who or where I should give credit to when sending stories/pictures/music/info (if you created it, then you get the credit, I am just sharing!). Thanks....xoxo - Bender

That's quite a long post title, isn't it? Oh well. Here's the skinny:
I'm making a comp zine about the misconceptions people have faced with regards to their disabilities.
Are you going to take a shotgun to the next person who tells you it's all in your head?
Do media representations of your disability make you grit your teeth?
Ever had someone ask does he take sugar, or variations… Continue

Hello! A new season is upon us and, though I'm ridiculously cold, I couldn't be happier. I love fall. This last month has been harvesting from the garden, touring, being sick, and getting the house ready for some winter nesting. It's been tumultuous in its seeming calm. It's kind of hard to believe so much happened in such a short amount of time. But it did and it was (mostly) good and here we are at a new month, a new season, and a new newsletter. Hope you all are well and I would love to send… Continue

The next issue should be coming out around December and I'm taking submissions from anyone (in or outside of the US, which is where I reside) who identifies as a feminist and is: asexual,… Continue

I am looking for submissions of articles on the theme of penpalling. Some ideas might be:

I know this is meant to be a blog post, but I can only hope that someone reads it.
I am trying to start another mini-zine (my other mini-zine is a perzine called Army of Her) called Grrrl Power and it's all about female empowerment. I feel that with the everyday bombardment by the media, women are feeling more and more isolated as higher and increasingly impossible standards are expected of them, as well as, not being expected to succeed. Really self-contradictory.
Anyway, I… Continue
