Junk Drawer Zines in the Big Apple

Some Junk Drawer zines can now be found in New York City.

All are for sale at Bluestockings bookstore. They have a fine selection of books and zines, and a few Chicago zines. Junk Drawer issue #1 is in the zine library collection at ABC No Rio.

Both these places are on the Lower East Side, and are worth checking out. They are great supporters of independent writing and zines.…

Report from Kids' Comic Con 2009

On April 25 my daughters and I attended Kids’ Comic Con 2009 at Bronx Community College. We were invited by Mike Weiss, whose daughter Jessica is co-producer of PB&J Comics and a fixture at East Coast zine fests.



This was a really interesting event. For one thing, I haunt some key NYC comic stores regularly, and never heard a thing about this (it was the third annual con). I’m not sure how it was built, but the turnout… Continue
