I'm sending zines over to the Philippines to help out with the new zine library being built. Feel free to contact Dead Times Zine ( http://wemakezines.ning.com/profile/DeadTimesZine) if you'd like to donate! I personally think it's awesome to have my work all over the world!

We are a new zine library at XPACE Cultural Centre (http://xpace.info), an artist-run centre in Toronto, Canada. Starting March 2012 the zine library will be accessible in our main space whenever we are open, during regular gallery hours Tuesday-Saturday, alongside our regular art programming. The zine library will exist with two other library projects: a monthly curated library, which coincides with main…

I thought it would be nice to show you how my sketches and doodles are born. At the minute I’m catching up with writing letters to people and most include a little drawing. I used to include sketches in letters to fill the void as writing isn’t my strong point so I never wrote much. Now with practice I’m getting more confident with writing but the drawings still remain. Its also these sketches which make up my zone of lunch time doodles. Just drop… Continue

We've got SHOP's Zine Library in Bristol back up and running, after fixing up the shelving and storage arrangements. We now have lots of hand-made and hand-decorated cardboard shelving modules scattered around the place to house all the zines, as well as the usual coffee and cakes on offer to those wanting to stop in SHOP's lounge and have a rest and a read. More info… Continue

For the longest time I've been complaining about how there wasn't a zine scene here in Florida. So this week I decided to actually do something about it. I think that there needs to be a place like the IPRC and Boxcar Books here in Florida. There needs to be a space where people can just go to write or do art, and to make copies. I got two friends together and I pitched the idea, and they agree so we've started the process of incorporating, and when that's done we're going to file for tax… Continue

Hi there! I have been handed over the Welland Zine Library by Jen Pilles to move to Niagara College, my place of study, for students to take advantage of. I am right now in the process of updating and re-vamping the collection for the new school year (starting September 9th), and need your help!
I am especially lacking feminist, women's health, food, mental health and queer zines especially.
If you are interested in donating a copy of your zine, please message me or e-mail… Continue

I had a tremendously awesome 24 Hour Zine Thing & Reading at my library, and I took some pictures during the reading. I wish I had thought to take pictures during the zinemaking portion of the event, which had over 20 attendees including an 8 year old and a 78 year old. At least 8 of the attendees completed zines (including the 8 year old!). The reading had over 40 attendees. I was boggled at the event's success, which was mostly due to the draw of 6 great zine readers...… Continue

Yesterday I put up a month long exhibit in the lobby of the University of Washington Graduate Library (Suzzallo/Allen to locals). It was a bit tough aiming it at mostly people that might not know what a zine is as well as trying to add books to the collection about radical and zine cataloging encouraging librarians to collect zines in academic library collections (during March the ACRL conference, as well as the Zine Librarian Unconference, will be taking place in Seattle). It was also hard to… Continue

Hey Portland folks,
Wednesday the 4th at 3pm I am having a shelve building/ mural painting get together at my house. This will be an ongoing project until the murals are finished and enough books/zines are donated. Basically I am turning my vacant garage into library. If you have any zines you would like to donate it would be much appreciated. A lot of people have been getting involved. I'm rly excited to see how a space that isn't necessarily community oriented will turn into… Continue

So earlier this year, the gals who started the Rock N Roll Camp in Portland put out a book called Rock N Roll Camp For Girls: How to Start a Band, Write Songs, Record an Album, and Rock Out!!
They're doing a book tour, and today we finalized my library as being a stop on the tour! My town hosts the Southern Girls Rock N Roll Camp; the organization who runs SGRRC has helped with some of the zine workshops I've done at my library (where I… Continue

Hi, all. I'm Kelsey, and I live in Olympia. I've made a few zines in my life, and made even more artists' books. Mostly, though, I'm just a big fan of zines and a zine librarian. I created a zine collection for my library (Olympia Timberland Library) this year. We have over 200 zines in the collection so far, and it's growing slowly as time goes on. Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself and thank Krissy for putting this forum together. I'll be looking to buy new zines for the library in our… Continue
