a place for zinesters - writers and readers
I did that on 2013 as well and never got a response from the zine distro that I sent my zine to. That was sad. So I hope this year is better.
I have a couple of zine distros in mind, but I'm waiting to hear from one I've been in touch with earlier this year. We'll see how it works out. I may not do any activity tonight as I am completely busted from this morning's errands. And besides, I am looking at my 24-Hour Zine Thing to start tomorrow night. So I need to catch up on some sleep…Continue

I'm not really a romance freak and I kinda find Valentine's Day to be a complete bore. Anyway, living in Israel, nobody really celebrates it. But ValenZine's Day! Now, that's a holiday worth celebrating! Gotta love my zines and totally adore my zine crushes!
Although I skipped an activity, I wanted ValenZine's Day to fall on the 14th, so I switched it with the activity that came before it (Sending a zine to a distro for consideration)
Last night, I wrote a short letter to my…Continue

Okay so I dropped the ball quite a bit on IZM2015 when I got a phone call rejection about a job when I thought the interview went well so I spent a couple of days shutting myself out. I have to head out this afternoon to the post office to send out a zine order but I'll be updating ya'll with a proper blog post soon. As some of my zine trades arrived as well as the ones from the distro.
For now i'll just show you a page from a comic I've been working on:…Continue

Thanks to all of you that have donated your zines. The TZL is hoping to have at least 30 zines before displaying in late August. Please keep the creativity and the love coming, I reciprocate all the mail personally with my own zine and whatever other specials things I can find. Te quiero mucho, amigos. -Julio

I moved down to Georgia from New Jersey in 1990. I was 15 years old. The first year i was here i didn't really make any friends at my new school so i didn't really do to much but make art and listen to records in my room. I always was into art and writing. In the time spent alone that first year was when I discovered zines through Sassy magazine. I started my first zine soon after.
An Emotional Biscuit (the name was taken from a Sugarcubes song!) was a music zine i did through out the…Continue
I tried doing that in 2013, but I really didn't have the courage to do it. I don't know why... I mean all the zines I sent/traded/shared/sold were mostly given to people from overseas who I don't even know. That is, strangers. But I still knew their name and their address. Leaving my zine in a public place just seems so... I don;t know, impersonal?
Also, I would never know what would happen to such a zine.
But yesterday, I actually got over my fear and left a copy of PMS issue…Continue
visited my local zine library yesterday to drop off a couple of things I had made. Gave some thought to the being reviewed thing, but i.m not so sure I want that...it kind of makes it seem as if someone is in charge. Today, put together a package to trade with someone I haven't met, but lives in the same city as me. would be awesome to meet up...or maybe we already have, without knowing it!

“Paws Up!” is a brand new zine that focuses on all things cats: the human connection with them, how great they are, how much they sleep, that cute little thing they do that you’re convinced no other cat ever does, and everything else embodying why cats are so great.
This is actually pretty cool! I already have a new zinester's address and as far as I know, they already sent me their zine, so I just have to make the package and send mine too!
This is fun! I can't wait to read someone else's new zines! My zine collection box will love me for it.
The truth is I have absolutely no idea where to find zinesters that actually review zines. So yesterday, I just made a package with no name or address on it so that I can fill it in when I actually do find someone.
I wrote a message on the Zines A Go Go group on Facebook and waiting for a response. I also looked it up online. I came across the Spill the Zines website, which I had already heard of before. It's a Zine Review site but apparently, they are not taking anymore requests for…Continue

At this moment I work on FAH #2 and FAH #3 almost simultaneously. I think FAH #3 will be released first, possibly this August, and I'm afraid FAH #2 will eventually be skipped (to become the best zine you never read in your life). I'm on the move and FAH #2 feels already outdated. I'll post photos of the work in progress on FAH #3 this weekend.

I was going to skip this activity too and work on my zine instead, but I totally forgot to photocopy all the flyers and material I have to be used as backgrounds for my zine. And since I already finished the writing part, and just need to make the layout, I got stuck with no material for layout at all. So I went ahead and worked on some mail art instead.
I had to edit some of my postcards with the new URL for my Etsy shop since I changed the name of it from Hadass420 (which really…Continue

Yesterday, my husband printed a bunch of copies of my PMS zines that I needed to mail out to Boston to have it ready for the zine fest coming up in October. I hope to be tabling there with my friend, Dawn, which will totally rule.
So the package I made yesterday wasn't really a care package but just a package of zines.
But I made a mental note to make one at some point this week.
I got some sweet ideas for stuff to include in the package, which I won't detail here…Continue

The activity was to write a letter to a zinester that I don't know. And since it didn't specify whether it was a current zinester, and whether it had to be someone I REALLY don't know, I wrote to my new penpal Alexis who is a former zinester. We've had only a single mail correspondence, never met in person, and she actually had to go digging around her old stuff to find her old zines.
I have yet to send out my letter, but I have a few other packages to organize, including the care…Continue
