Prounouncing visual kei band names in Japanese

ディルアングレイ - Dir en grey : Diru an gurei : Deeru an guu-ray-ee (When said correctly in Japanese it pretty much just sounds like you're stretching out the English pronunciation of Dir en grey. Note: if in English you pronounce DER en grey, that is wrong, it is pronounced closed to DEER en grey, which is how "Diru" in Japanese is just sounding like a…

Bruno Mars not Diva enough says critic

Bruno Mars accused of not being Diva enough!

This is perhaps the most bizarre quote I’ve ever seen from the music press. This excerpt from Huffington Press:

The actual quote was from New York magazine’s Jody Rosen, who spoke to the Times’ Dave Itzkoff about the NFL’s decision to select Mars for the halftime show:

Jody Rosen, the pop critic of New York magazine, hailed Mr. Mars as an artist with a dynamic stage presence and an energetic live band. But he also… Continue

Real Madness #5,Tim,and Dope

My new Real Madness Comics #5, Last Issue hasn't been selling that much. I still have 2 copies left. Its got 2 stories in it, tying up the loose ends from previous Real Madness Comics. The first is the conclusion of Fuck That Shit, from RM#1. The whole 5 issue series was printed up by Tim @ Teenage Dinosaur. When we first started, it was back in 2002 or so. I was working as a bouncer/doorguy, and Tim came and tracked me down. This led to the best comic I'd done in awhile, Crouching Skinhead…

Madness Art Update

This blog is about my favorite subject: me.Mostly just writing about new strips I got in some really cool group comics that turned out bitchun, got good reviews, and are worth giving a look at if your into weird comic art. The first one is called On Your Marks. Its put out by Short Run press out of Sleazeattle. Every artist got one page, and the results are amazing. Usually I'm pretty critical of artists, but every page in this bitch looks dope. Max Clotfeller curated it. He does the dope…

Today is the day!!

Well peeps today is the day I proclaim that I am a writer. Still filled with self doubt, I will hopefully work through that with every time I tell someone "I am a freelance writer."

I have so many talents and skills, I've traveled so many places...it's time to let all that info out of my head and on to a page (or 100,000,000).

How do/did you know you're a writer?

Son of Quizzicals

Son of Quizzicals

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of:

Name who said this, “Steven Hawking’s a genius and he talks like a robot. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a friend.”

IS: Dr. Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory, tv show.

I had no correct eligible answers. Seems your Big didn’t Bang on this one. I don’t dumb down so please wise up.

The Beatles 50 Years ago

The Beatles invasion 50 years ago was so exciting and so much fun. They have been a big influence on my music career. They wrote songs, I wrote songs.
Here is one specifically written by me to salute the Fab Four, and fabulous they were!

Big 6 Chart - or why 6 companies have ruined all mainstream arts

Dear Musea Readers,

A Facebook friend showed me this chart of the Big 6. The chart shows the consolidation of the media and arts into 6 megacompanies. This consolidation has ruined mainstream arts. I started Musea in 1992 to fight this mess and open up the arts to all again - not just 6 CEO's. See the chart at my blog…
