a place for zinesters - writers and readers
I just wanted to give an introduction about myself. I've been making zines since the late 90's. I came across zine/tape/DIY culture at the record store Benway Bop! in Las Vegas, NV. The zine that made sense to me was called "Snoopy Fanzine." It was a combination of Snoopy fan art, local punk band interviews, nonsense rants, sensical rants and general insanity. One could say it was love at first sight.
I copied the layout and format of this zine to make my first zine where I…Continue

Well I printed 20 copies of issue 3 and so far have mailed out maybe 8 or so. Want to trade or something? Let me know.
Happy new year first of all! I've started to work on the second issue of my perzine Fixing A Hole. The release will be somewhere in the first quarter of this year. Each issue, written on a digital Alphasmart Neo 2 and manually transferred to an analogue Sperry-Remington Tenfifty, will come with an original Polaroid as cover photo (different for each issue). I intent to include more (loose) original artwork in or with the issue as well. The content of this second issue of Fixing A Hole will…Continue
Issue four of Spare Ink is available. Twenty half sized pages printed on an inkjet provide several short fiction stories as well as some rambling in slice of life format interspersed among scanned images of drawings and paintings. Mostly the focus is lowbrow artistic with a humorous spin (hopefully).…Continue

I hope you have had a great start to 2016. I can't believe it's 2016. I started this website in August of 2008. I'd like to invite you to become more involved in WMZ in the new year.
I see a lot of people come on here and then comment on how dead it is. And yeah, it can be. The weird thing is, I approve over about 50 people a month. We are now over 6,550 members. So, where are you all? Why aren't you speaking up, showing us your zines and commenting on posts? As my mom used…Continue

Over the past couple of days, I've been working on getting to grips with Photoshop CS5 and honestly, it's been pretty frustrating. However, it has led me to finally produce a four page mini zine themed around crystal healing. You can check it out for free here: http://issuu.com/mckenzie-quinn/docs/merged_document_2
Hopefully the new year will bring new ideas and significantly longer zines (maybe with better…Continue
I hope the year treated you well. I look forward to a new year of courage, motivation and determination to stay healthy and creative. I'll be hosting an urban soul farmer workshop at Bakersfield College in February. I've decided to come out with an Urban Soul Farmer zine to give out at the college.

Issue 3 honestly was very draining but I think I want to continue writing. I'm already thinking of ideas but am also just trying to relax. Also trying to promote issue 3 so if you're interested, or know of someone that might be, by all means let me know. I'm hoping issue 4 might delve more into some of the doom or misanthropic elements issue 3 had in "Castles of Detritus".

In 2016 I am passing the torch of One Minute Zine Reviews (the paper zine) to my son Stephen J. Lazotte. Zines and items of curiosity may be sent to him directly at PO Box 383 Manchester NH 03105. I will continue to write posts occasionally at zinereviews.blogspot.com. Paper zines of zine reviews are becoming scarce, so let's support Steve with this project that he had graciously accepted.
Calhoun Press has just released a new zine, "Flying Colors," full of images made by the eponymous late-90s software program. Flying Colors is like Kid Pix, but with more gradients and better stamps. This zine uses Flying Colors to tell a symbolic fairy tale story about a brave prince defeating an evil…Continue
