Back from traveling, Stolen Sharpie Revolution and a zine fest in Utah...

So, My sister and I just spent 4 days driving my grandmother's car with a trailer full of stuff back from central Texas (Temple, TX to be exact) We barely missed a snowstorm in Wyoming and Utah and dodged the pelting rains that it turned into once it hit Kansas. Stopped off to eat vegan food at Watercourse in Denver, stayed with our friend James in SLC and had lunch at Sage's and diner at the Vertical diner. Left Salt Lake City at 6Am yesterday, picked up some hitchhiking punks in Hermiston,… Continue

A zine publisher/mail artist´s worst nightmare: Postman hoards 20,000 letters!!!

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - A Scottish postman working in Germany hoarded at least 20,000 letters at home because he felt his work was too taxing, police said on Tuesday.

The postman in Frankfurt was caught when a neighbor saw him tipping a mail delivery into a rubbish bin and alerted police.

"It's worth mentioning the 23-year-old didn't deliver mail addressed to himself either," local police said in a statement.

Investigating officers found rubbish bags and boxes full of letters and… Continue

Eating Ass and other previously published articles

Hey all,

here are some stories & articles from issues 1-7. In no particular order.

EATING ASS

Is it possible that all these years I just hadn’t found the perfect ass to ream? Oh, hello there. You’ve interrupted my thought process. Never mind, it wasn’t important. I’m kidding. It’s very, very important & I suggest that you continue reading because it may or may not change your life & your eating habits.

Many moons ago, in a quiet nook in the far… Continue

Life Without Internet

Well, it seems my life has changed in many ways in the last ho hum... week and a half. Not too long ago my boyfriend kicked my ass to the curb and this provided the catalyst for a world of physical change (and emotional growth).

I left the tiny apartment we shared last week and moved into an even smaller sunroom of a bedroom. I purged my belongings into this small space and started negotiating my way around housemates again. We're designing a vegie patch in the backyard for… Continue

From The Trenches

Since I just got done with a mini comic for my youngest daughetr, Dandelion, I decided to do one for my older daughter, Delia. Of course they are night and day. Where Dandy is a blonde, princess with a penchant for 80's slasher flicks, Delia is a darker, emo with a love for the tv show Monk and My Chemical Romance. I have no idea where I'm going to go with this one. My one shot of Mark and Teresa Baranowski is coming along fine. Since I have no Prison… Continue

.: City Birds

Eyeformation {printed in Art Bureau 16}

Eyeformation's latest project is CITY BIRDS—a flock of colorful birds inhabiting an installation/mural created by the artist and other participants.

The project began in the summer of 2007, when the first CITY BIRD illustrations found their way on skateboard decks designed by the artist. Soon after, the birds were being constructed from recycled and found wood as two standard shapes—one with the wings…

I love it when a plan comes together

So earlier this year, the gals who started the Rock N Roll Camp in Portland put out a book called Rock N Roll Camp For Girls: How to Start a Band, Write Songs, Record an Album, and Rock Out!! They're doing a book tour, and today we finalized my library as being a stop on the tour! My town hosts the Southern Girls Rock N Roll Camp; the organization who runs SGRRC has helped with some of the zine workshops I've done at my library (where I… Continue

Zines I picked up in Philly

I traded for a lot of zines at the Philly Zine Fest (and in a few cases, bought them, I admit). I wanted to make a list of what I came home with, and here it is!

If any of these sound interesting to you, let me know and I'll send you contact info for the zinesters. Of course a lot of them are already here on We Make Zines.

Because I am a crafty mama~

I was featured in a blog about being crafy and my etsy shop was involved, yay!

I was really thrilled to be asked by Shai (Shai's Creations) to do an interview for her because she wanted to feature me and my crafty items in her blogger. Shai has featured wonderful crafters on her blog so it was an honor.

I love being a part of an awesome creative community where people share and help each other. It makes life better when we are helping each other take a step forward instead… Continue

HELLO!

I have published a zine entitled Divine Exploitation since 1988. It mainly covers the entertainment genre and I am getting ready to do a series of one shots that focus on micro budget film makers. The first issue will deal with Mark Baranowski and his wife Teresa who goes by the name Ryli Morgan.
