Chicken-Head Records Zine is published Quarterly. We published 2000 copies from 2000 to 2008, now due to increasing overhead we're down to a 1000. We lovingly fold and staple each one of these babies, and then drop them off at the ever diminishing record store as well as ship a few here and there. I guess people read them, who would have known! Currently archiving back issues, keep checking back for details.

I'm way new at this, I just have always loved music, writing and drawing so this past summer I thought, "Why not combine all those things?"
So I did, came up with Squid Pro Quo and finally printed it out. It's basically a punk rock zine with interviews, album reviews, cartoons and musicians' columns. At least that's what I've got thus far.
In issue #1, you'll find:
-Interview with Joe Queer and John P. Hayes (aka Wimpy Rutherford) of THE QUEERS!
-Interview with Tony…

Some years back, I interviewed Ayun Halliday (of East Village Inky and The Big Rumpus and No Touch Monkey fame) for Clamor. I can't remember what title this interview had when it was in the magazine.
Ayun Halliday is the author of the recently released book The Big Rumpus. She is also the writer and illustrator of the quarterly zine The East Village Inky and the mother of two in the under-five crowd. I adore her work. When I start reading The East Village Inky, I cannot put it down,…

I've been toying with a few ideas, things to work on between what I already have going...
- Photo study minis -- I already have a good start on a lot of photo studies. I have series of fire hydrants, fences, and churches already, so depending on length I really wouldn't need to take many additional photos to complete a zine (seperate zine for each theme). I'm thinking of scrapbooking a layout for each little page but not actually attaching the photos. Then I could get…

The Project for January is A Poem A Day.
I have to give myself projects and challenges or I never get anything done. This time I have invited other poets to join me.
I guess the title is self-explanatory, but here's the invitation I sent out to other poets:
1) Write a poem each day during the month of January 2009.
2) Give yourself full permission to write mostly crap. The exercise does not call for a great poem or even a complete poem every day. The…

So because I've already finished my 2nd story a while back (still awaiting publication), I've decided to start on a new project. It's Nymphoids' Survival Guide. It should be a survival guide for girls (inside and out :P, no discrimination here loves!), including some fashion guides and DIY projects to look amazingly awesomely cool without breaking the bank, boy/girl problems, school/work stress, and everything about us girls/ladies/ women! XD from stories to advice to photos or original artwork…

Okay, so before I tell you about my new project, someof you might be wondering why I call my zine and almost everything Nymphoid(s). Well, when I was trying to think of a name for my first zine, I was at first cinsidering more generic names... since it was a heart break series... i was thinking of cheesy names... but you see, that isn't like me at all. I like metphores, hidden meanings and such things...
So I was like, I need somethign that can represent everything that I will write…

Working on 3 zines simultaneously whenever I get a chance. Time is taken up by the usual--work, travelling to and fro work, boring household chores.
New zines-- 2 poetry, one mini and one zine that I am asking for collaborations....

So, I have a zillion ideas and rather than cram them into one big mish-mash, I am trying to seperate out some of my themes into more specific, focused ideas.
- Blithe Ire #1 -- Next to be ready to print; my art/lit mag that I've thus far gotten most of my material for by pestering friends. This one is pretty open-ended.... I have so far a really cheap recipe, some poetry, an article about collecting concert bootlegs, a philosophical rant, some short fiction... I still…

After much careful deliberation, we decided to make some 13th anniversary sweatshirts. It's something that we've talked about and wanted for a long time. Unfortunately, it's very hard to find fair trade, American made sweatshirts. Even most of the companies that generally make their products ethically cannot make "cost effective" sweatshirts in the US. So eventually we decided to go with American Apparel as our best option. To be "down" we are selling them for about half of what American…
