ALA Zine Pavilion 2016, Orlando, Florida!!! Collecting zines....

Hi everyone! We are back again, long time no see on WeMakeZines!

Once again, we are collecting donations for the ALA Annual Conference Zine Pavilion in June, in Orlando. In the past, we've had a backstock of zines from weeded collections/ donations, etc. This year again, except with a little stipend from ALA, we are struggling to gather zines for the exhibit and then raffle…

Comic / 'Graphic Medicine' / Zine - Mental Health

Hi hi, I made a comic/graphic novella/zine last year about depression. It took a really long time to work on due to fatigue etc. But I eventaully managed to get it out. I'm now trying to motivate myself to do something else! It got a really kind review on Broken Frontier.

Prolific

I am jealous of zinesters who can put out zines on a regular basis. I publish Manifesto – a compzine -- but it takes me more than a year to put an issue together. Then I look at zinesters on here like Fishspit and Ken (of the Ken Chronicles) and I wonder, “dang, how do they do it?” I could never get that many issues out or that often.

For years, I have kept a journal where I write or draw anything that interests me (more…

Minor Leagues - 100 page zine of drawing, comics and writing

The first issue of my new zine, Minor Leagues is available now

Contains 100 pages of comics, drawings, stories and writing about how days go by, a video rental shop, walking, travelling in Mississippi, a snowball fight from 1995 and more. Thinking a lot about how things and people come and go.

It picks up where my last series SMOO left off, detailing things that…

you feminist punk rocker zinesters need to read this!

Today there was an article in the seatle times newspaper that said, feminist punk rock is taking off!  Taking over the world!  Greatest thing since the Oscar Meyer Wiener dog truck! (God I miss that wiener truck . . . driver would give you a free Oscar Meyer wiener dog ring!)

Jesus you women are so far behind…

New zine! Darn happy with it.

Finished a new zine. I'm donating one of my ukes to my younger brother for his birthday this month. It's part of his present. I think I am going to make a modified version of this zine and give that to him as well. He is a guitar player, so he can transfer a lot of theory.

Within this zine I explain exactly what got me interested in the ukulele and then I go on to teach seven of the most used chords (depending on who you talk to) and list a couple of songs where you might find…

Distributed my zines!

So, I bought a zine from a lady on Etsy. She said I was the first to read her zines and wrote me a letter of thanks. She included a return address, so I sent her two zines back. I don't know if that is against proper zine etiquette or not? Unsolicited zines?!

I have lived in this village two years now, and I held off signing up to the library - the place that's a safe haven for me wherever I may be and always has been (I think I should write a zine about libraries) but today I signed…

'Tramp' photozine

My 'Tramp' photozine came about after I had collected together a collection of black & white photographs of urban and rural landscapes. I am interested in how and what the walker experiences in a variety of landscapes, and so this 48 page photozine was born. I am also interested in the relationship of experimental text/concrete poetry with that of black & white images, which led me to include four texts in this photozine.

'Tramp' is available to buy through my Etsy…
