Finally after many delays, NPR has published its sponsor and donor list for 2008.
There are 45 sponsors that are major music, film, television, media, and publishing companies. Their donations range from under $50 thousand, up to a half a million. Here's the list.

this website is awesome! it's 'sort of' a zine archive, mostly into punk zines.

they have lots of old zines, back from the 90s and 80s, but they also have some "contemporary" (aka 2000s) zines.
though i'm not that much into punk, it's amazing the work these guys are doing in scanning old zines and making them available online for…

Happy Winter Sweet Candy friends!
It's been awhile since I have sent out distro updates. Did you think I disappeared? No way! My son was born in August so I've been quite busy with a baby, homeschooling my daughters, as well as rockin' the work-at-home mama status. I decided to re-organize the distro and start fresh. Perfect timing with the New Year coming up fast.
No major changes, just asking for extra patience when you send me your zine for review. My goal is to get…

This is my favourite way to distribute copies of my zine, and get copies of other peoples'. Since I signed up here in the summer, it's been going pretty well, but lately, I've noticed that I'm sending a lot of stuff out and not getting much back. Maybe it's just that it's getting cold out and no-one wants to leave their house.
I just sent out a few emails asking some people if they've received my zines, because I know that's how I used to keep track of trades - by sending back…

ok, here are some reviews, by Amber of Fight Boredom/Culture Slut
Cheaptoys #4
Although the majority of this issue is written in French, Gizmo has used a few pages to practice his English. As it happens, I use his zine to practice my French. This issue is mostly typewritten and laid out cut and paste style. Giz writes about being vegan in France, which is a rarity, and cooking vegan meals for local show-goers. This made me happy because I actually just went to a show last week…

Just added a pretty awesome Olympia zine called Radical Mycology, which will teach you a good percentage of things you might want to know about mushrooms. Not one of the classic zine subjects, I know, but that's what makes it so good. Check it out. Totally recommended if it's something you're at all interested in.

10 years ago (ish) i became a zinester.
holy whoa.
1999.... it feels like not that long ago that people were in a panic about the y2k. planning huge new years eve parties in case everything turned to shit at midnight. my friends (at the time) and i gathered at a cottage with loads of other people, the friends of a brother and other cottagers. when nothing happened in other time zones, we knew it was safe to move on with our lives. "anthem for the year 2000" by silverchair was in…

Hi All! I just joined the We Make Zines board yesterday, and I have been reading and trying to find an appropriate way to make a post about my new zine... so I am writing this blog!
I used to be very involved in the zine community, and I wrote zines like "rock star with words", "the remainder of zero" and "there is still a chance for us". And in the late 90s I also made a lot of zines that I won't mention :) Anyways, it's been a few years since I've made a zine I've really put out…
