I wrote these three reviews for GoodReads.
#1 Subtitled "adventures with mental health", this first issue is specifically about "becoming bipolar."
In her introduction, Laura-Marie writes, "I'm writing this zine so others can know what it feels like to be me. Also, it...more Subtitled "adventures with mental health", this first issue is specifically about "becoming bipolar."

These are the reviews of Morganmuffel #16 and #17 that I wrote for my GoodReads page. #17 actually just came out, so you can get a copy from Isy. She's on We Make Zines, so look her up.
#16 Morgenmuffel RULES!
Isy tells the stories of her life through super cool, super cute comics. She goes to protests, cooks a lot of food, and drinks a lot of beer. This particular issues includes lists of hated things compiled by a variety of people.
#17 I so appreciate Isy's… Continue

I am going to start posting zine reviews that I've written for the Feminist Review Blog (http://feministreview.blogspot.com/) and Zine World and GoodReads
(http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/142816). Once I post everything that I've already written, I will try to write new ones. These won't all be up-to-the- minute zine reviews, but maybe they will be of interest to someone.

This review was first published in Zine World #26 and later on the Feminist Review Blog (http://feministreview.blogspot.com/2008/11/3.html).
3 is the fourth book published by robnoxious, a collection of creative non-fiction including pain and happiness, laughter, friendship and isolation, travel, cats and dogs, drinking, and even more than all that.
It’s difficult to accurately describe what this book is about. It’s the stories that make up one guy’s life. It’s about… Continue

i started working on a new zine today. This one is about my experiences as a queer woman, especially my experiences as a bisexual queer women who is in a long distance relationship with a man, causing a lot of people to perceive me as straight. I am probably going to a queer conference in Chicago in May and thought it would be fun to have a zine to give to people, kind of as a calling card.
It will be available for trade and purchase when it's done. I'll post here when it's ready,… Continue

lately life has been more about organizing the studio (again. it's a mess. not just any mess. it's epic.). beyond that, i've been tossing around a few new zine ideas in my head--all inclusive sorts of things that are like perzine meets tutorial meets art zine meets poetical meander. honestly, keeping up with a bunch of different zine topics is just too much darn work right now. i will, of course, continue to keep Fat Girl
(my body posi zine)… Continue

i just finished a new issue of my zine, "motor city kitty" tonight! i know that seems really close to the release of #11, but that one was half-done in july, the second half in october and i just now printed it. though i finished #12 tonight, it probably won't get printed until mid-january due to my current financial status (unless i figure out the copy trick on campus!)

I'm a writer living in New York. That sets me apart not at all, really. So I digress...
In 2005, I co-founded Aforementioned Productions
, an online literary journal. We produced my evening of theatre--entitled Cleavage--and published the script the following year.
In 2007, we published my debut novel, A Girl Named Charlie Lester
. It went… Continue

it took me about a month after completing motor city kitty #11 to finally go make copies of it. things have just been so busy. i don't know why i get so ambitious about zines when i know i'm not always gonna have the time to devote to them (probably because zines are true love.)
i know i owe some people trades, or zines for subscribers. here's the list of people i know i owe zines to. if you're not on it but believe you should be, let me know. sometimes i lose track of envelopes and… Continue

Just completed my first zine 'transmission'. It doesn't really have a theme as the zine in itself is an experiment. I threw in some of my collage and a cartoon in between a poem and a story.
Christmas actually encouraged me to complete it. My friend has no idea what zines are. I tried to explain and directed her to this site, but I think she needs to see an actual zine. So I went in search of some in Hamilton.
Only found one about sexual abuse and violent relationships, Hamilton… Continue

Lady With a Buzzsaw (I know it's supposed to be two words, but I like them better together) is finally printed and ready to go! I am very excited! It may not be the best zine in the world, but I still feel accomplished. 20 pages. I am still getting used to all of this zine stuff, so some of the black and white photos came out a bit harsh. Oh well!

-A frightening dream I had

From an Etsy buyer:
Interesting work. I lean towards the second issue: I like the smaller
size and the greater contrast of dark and light in the pictures - I think the greater contrast allows the viewer/reader more access to the book.
Lets see, one of my favorite
pictures is in the first book - the one where you wrote: When dealing with nature....
very strong image. I like Zines that have strength of vision - ones that reach
some truth… Continue
