Update on zines and things.

Hello!

It may not look it from the zine side of things, but I have been quite busy these past couple months. I've begun sending short stories off to a few journals and lit magazines for consideration, and also gave serious thought to turning my freelancing web design business into a full-blown LLC. I would love to continue freelance graphic design and web development because it allows me the time I need to write while also paying my bills.

Going back to a regular 9 to 5,… Continue

Poems Written the Last of October 2010

Poems written the last of October 2010

POEMS:
1.
Hurricane and Tornado
met on the shore
for the championship bout.
-
Round ONE went to land.
Round TWO went to sea.
Round THREE and they each
knocked the other out!
2.
To test their mettle
they devised a game.
Each boy would shoot
ten arrows in a row.
The one that…

Another once-every-two-years UPDATE.

Hey, palz!

FREEZERBURN, one of two or maybe three printzines left in St. Louis, is nearly sold out of its 15th issue. It won't be reprinted, as the covers were nicely custom-silkscreened and plus, crucially, I cannot afford a 2nd run of 'em. Better to move on to the next issue.

THIS WEEK, the fifth and final HALLOWE'EN SPECIAL will come out. What izzat, you ask? Every year I make a goofy monster/gore/"Crypt"-style zine for the notoriously debauched All Hallow's…

Basic Paper Airplane #4 out now!

So I just finished stapling and folding the first 100 copies of Basic Paper Airplane #4, the long-promised family issue. What started as a family history project turned into reading a bunch of books on the history of the human family and considering if we should even be connected to our families at all. It was a weird road. What came out is 40 pages of things I learned along the way.…

LOST TAPES "Love is Forever" Mosteller/Loehr

This LOST TAPE* features a song that is AS GOOD AS MUSIC GETS!

This song compares well to any song or song performance from ANYONE ANYWHERE.
I can brag on it because it is by some very talented people that I was lucky to have on my eighties record company, 12 BY 12.
Song is LOVE IS FOREVER, sung by Alayna Mosteller, with piano accompaniment by the composer of the song, Scott Jacob Loehr.
The song is from 1984 and was featured as one of the…

Body-Conscious Birth Control

Hey all,

I just finished Body-Conscious Birth Control, an Introduction to the Fertility Awareness Method. As the name suggests, this is a thorough introduction to using FAM with a body-centric perspective. Copies are available now by donation (no requests are refused), and here's a link to a printable .pdf (not the best quality).

I need to sit and write...

Have you ever realized that you have about 50 stories drafted, edited and written out completely on random scraps of paper that never make it to the actual production desk? And because they never do, your zine doesn't either?

I have.

It seems like I have the motivation to write and have lots of flavourful content for my zine, it's just the part of putting it together that stops me. And I really want to put it together! I have absolutely nothing…
