a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Look to left field and outside the box for this one - Remember that long, dramatic and classic song by the great songwriter, Jimmy Webb, from the 60's, called MacArthur's Park? Well I think most people will agree that the tune is GREAT but the lyrics are... well... at the very least, hard to make sense of. So I'm writing new lyrics. Sing along with them and compare them with the original. Below the lyrics, are three great versions of the song with…Continue

It's been a while since I've been here. I'm been hiding from the internet, making music. Recently though, I broke my finger on my fretting hand :( It's healing but the pain and depression are taking a toll. So, I'm currently working on a few new zines: an art zine, two music zines, and a possible perzine. I'll be sure to update as these progress. In a recent e-mail club message I wrote about how a law from 2008 forbade anyone selling any children’s books published before 1985 to children, unless they passed a lead content test! The law, that was trying to protect children from lead, went to extremes, and went waaaay too far. UPDATE – the law has been repealed. I got the word from Fred Woodworth’s long running zine about kids series books called, “The Mystery and Adventure Series Review”. Woodworth was one of MANY, that…

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of:
Architecture question this time. This world class hotel built a tricycle garage. Name it and tell me why it did that.
The Plaza Hotel in NYC. They did it to celebrate their most important young guest, Kay Thompson's character and enfant terrible, "Eloise"
I had no correct answers. Seems your trike's bell was not ringing on this one. I don't dumb down/so please wise up.
Now on to a new Q.: Win a…Continue
