Poems written in September, 2011 [poem notes in brackets like this]
1 [Verse for a Film intro]
This is a film that explores
the wonder that surrounds us
from the universe high above
to the very smallest.
Drop down from the window.
Land softly, quietly
Now go quickly.
3 [first of two poems on ruins]
Everywhere on the planet

We started as a straight zine and now have a website as well. We're looking for people who're into the zine scene and would like to help publicise zines and zining by writing zine reviews and articles for The Flaneur. We are interested in art and culture, but as all zining is artisitic I don't see that this excludes any type of zine.
This is a volunteer position, so it doesn't matter if you email us one review, or if you want to get a login for the site…Continue

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of:
Here's another fictional character's question. This TV character from recent times, said this memorable line, "I smell pluck!". Who said that, and who was it said about?
IS: Marc saying it about Betty, from the extremely well written TV series "Ugly Betty" - a personal favorite!
There were no correct eligible answers. Betty does not put two thumbs up!I don’t dumb down, so please wise up!
Now on to a…

I started a zine blog! Check out Zine Hoarder.
Exploding the Myth #5 is finally finished! Well, I say finished - it's been finished for ages, I just had to get my act together and prep it for printing. But it's allll done now and ready to sell or trade. I haven't made too many copies this time - the idea is, if I have less old issues to rid myself of, it will spur me on to finish more future issues. I already have the contents of issues 6 and 7 sorted in my head, it's just focusing on one project long enough to get it all written down…Continue

After graduating college, I returned to my college town on a quick thirty-minute visit and discovered not only that the art club (OMAS, Organization of Murray Art Students) was in the hands of some of my best friends but also that they'd began using zines as bulletins to update the art department! What a happy discovery :)

What I remember most fondly about the heyday of zines (pre-internet) was the great diversity of thought coupled with a lack of hatred. I remember opening my first copy of FF5 and being agog at all the weird and freaky stuff. I was immediately in love. I ran an underground Christian music and culture zine and often took strong positions on moral subjects. People would respond, many disagreeing most strongly, but the discussions were just that, discussions. Through the medium of print and…Continue
Hey Zine Community,
My name is Erik Gamlem. I do some zines and on the way to the grocery store today I decided I wanted to curate a zine focused on dating and romance after the terrible twenties. I am interested in stories, experiences, anecdotes, art and such for an as yet untitled zine about love in the 30's, 40's, 50's and so on from the perspective of single people. You don't have to necessarily be single now, if you have a good story about being single in yr 30's etc. I'd…Continue

It was hell getting Issue 9/11 out. Just horrible! When we were about to hit send, the door to the office was kicked down and immediately some large gentlemen in black came streaming in and put a
hood over my head. They drove me around for a while and I ended up
where I could only imagine was the Coca-Cola bottling plant where I…

These are the two zines I created this year. They were each released already but have been repackaged and reprinted.
A tiny zine that reads like a snapshot. 1/12 legal sized (3"x4") 28 page mini zine, A single story wrapped in photocopier art. This zine takes place in an elevator between a 9th floor divorce lawyer and the ground and a bike ride home. It explores disappointments and the human inability to consider endings.
"We rode 9 stories down in…
