The answer to, and winner (if any) for,
our last contest question of:
Where are thousands and thousands of statues buried?
IS
Xian China. Near the mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. Farmers
were drilling a well and they discovered an underground, terracotta army of full sized: soldiers, weapons, horses, carriages - the works.
About 8,000 statues total in 3 main pits.
We may have one winner here - status pending. For the rest of you

I just looked through this mini-zine again, and I decided it is so flawed and disappointing that I won't trade it the way it is.
I might probably work on it to get it better, but the way it is I am not sending it out.
Probably it is not possible to improve it; I can't put in words what writing means to me or how it makes me feel, but then again: What kind of writer am I, not finding the right words to describe something?
This one really made me think and still…

So my friend bailed on going to Philly Zine Fest with me and no one else will go. I found this out just now, at 10:00 in the morning on the day before. I thought I should feel some huge disappointment; I was going to miss this for the 5th year in a row.
And then I opened my mouth and let the question that was burning in the back of my throat fall out, there in my kitchen: "Mom, what would you do if I just went alone?"
"I'd be a little nervous," she said, "but if you want…

Be a part of something subversive and great! This year, Lickety Split won an award at Expozine for Best Zine ( “Taking the genre to a new level. Guilt free and fun smut for everyone!”) and ranked #3 in the Montreal Mirror’s Best of Montreal 2009 edition.

Hello all,
due to my life being consumed with both mundane (work, medical, adult-type crapola) and sundry (hello kitty online beta testing, Russell Brand media consumption and lustful obsession) - i have NO new material for my table at the Philly Zine Fest this coming sunday. i will have plenty of the Annus Horribilis that was published late last year and as i owe my contributors copies for over a year...i should have at least the time to get THAT out of the way.
if you've…

Summer... kids hanging out in my house all day being bored... Thank you September for giving me my space back.
I was sitting in bankruptcy court this morning (with an unfortunate in-law who went on an $8,000 dollar shopping spree involving her phone, a home shopping channel, and a credit card she should never have had in the first place) when inspiration struck. I had just finished the most recent issue of The East Village Inky and started on RatBrat when I had this crazy urge to…

I finished and/or printed three new zines this week! Scatter Gram No. 4 is the latest of my library school journal zines. 'Ciuschidda' is a one shot quarter-size zine that tells the story of my grandpa’s nickname for me, and how I found out what it meant years after he died. And Winsome & Wise is a cut-n-paste perzine that's hopefully the start of something I'll continue for a while. They are all available in my etsy shop, http://welshrabbit.etsy.com.

just to let you
(i mean, anyone who tries to contact me through We Make Zines) that:
i might take a while to answer emails from now on, because tomorrow i'm back to work (my last vacations for this year end tonight snif snif´´´´) and i'll have less time to come to my computer (that sucks, but days only have 24 hours so...). i could try to check my email at work but the next few days i'll probably won't get much free time in there and besides it can be hard to get enough…

This month, people gave me a lot of great things to give away with orders (bunches of cd's, zines, buttons, stickers...even shirts and posters), so if you've been thinking of placing an order, just know that'll I can promise to send along a few extra things. Also, on the website, we have a new music player! Which means, you don't have to download 50 some songs individually to check out all the music we have to offer, you can just play it right off the site, super easy. This is what's been going…

The answer to, and winner (if any) for,

Galileo, in his book 'Two New Sciences' talked about music theory.

But the musical interval called the _______ , he describe as
causing "a tickling of the eardrum so that its gentleness is
modified by sprightliness, giving the impression simultaneously of
a gentle kiss and of a bite." Name the musical interval…

I just set up a new group: "German-Writing Zinesters" is meant to be for all zinesters who write their zines in german, whether it is because German is their native tongue or it is a loved foreign language.
If you write German: come play! :-)

The second mini-zine I've made, this one for a swapbot-swap "Mini-Zine of Craftiness": "On Writing - a mini-zine about the awesomeness of creating texts".
I am very disappointed with what I came up with.
I love writing, but I found it impossible for me to put the feeling I have while writing in words or pictures.
I am wondering how I can manage this better than that, but I have no idea at all on what to do or how to even try.
Probably it is just not possible, and it…
