Dear Readers,

Somewhere along the line, I began to collect tins- decorative tins, English tins, collectible tins, all kinds of tins. Living in an efficiency apartment, a small efficiency, they began to take up room, then more room, then THE room.

Lately I've been able to go through them, save favorites and put aside those I could part with. Turned out there were about 2-3 hundred in all sizes that I could part with - without taking away any favorites.

I placed… Continue

Zine Donations

I`m currently seeking donations of Zines in view to the creation of a new zine library in the North West of England, primarily the Liverpool/Merseyside area.  Initially the library will present itself in a series of pop up appearances until a permanent base can be secured.

Are you having a clear out of your old zine collection?

Maybe you write a zine and would like to spread the word of your publication?

Please get in touch if…

Quatros from July 2014

Quatros (7/14)

Door lit
from within

when you leave the Earth
the stars stop twinkling

star maps
voyage paths

white out stars
black ink space

What is a QUATRO. It’s a new type of very very short poetry that usually compares two things, in a haiku – way, packing a lot of meaning in a very small amount of words. There is usually a very real comparison, and behind it a 2nd deeper meaning

Response to Booker Prize List

This is not a book prize, this is a prize for novels - a type of literature that a lot of writers are not interested in. The mainstream has decided to wipe history clean of its real recent literary golden age of zines. Not only were they the best writing, but they… Continue

Dear Musea Readers,

Yesterday, July 16, 2014, I finished recording my 10 year and 9 CD voice and guitar project started in the summer of 2004.

My audio engineer Nolan Brett ran the machine after holding up 3 fingers, and I finished the third and last back up vocal harmony part to my original song titled "ROLL" with the line

"OH DARLIN"...ROLL" with my hands waving in the air!

Time 3:57 PM 7/16/14.*

Some uncommonly kind people asked me to answer some questions about zines. My answers are below.

How did you first become aware of zines and how did you get involved with making/ distributing them?
I'm probably one of the last generation who still learnt about new bands through fanzines : when I was at school I picked up flyers at gigs and used to get cassettes & fanzines through the post: crusty folk/punk and shoegaze indie psychedelic stuff, along with underground comics,…

July 9th at Crystal Clear Studio "B", I recorded the lead and background vocals for 3 of the songs - all originals.

There are 2 vocals left - and the recording part of my 10 year music project will be done.

My intent was to show all the types of music, and types of songs, and instrumentals one person can do on one standard (50 year old Sears… Continue

Zines happening this summer! (a quick update)

Life happens when you're fighting your way through your BA, apparently, but it's summer now, so yay! I am currently working on the two sequels to The Summer, one that will certainly be published and one that I'm still on the fence about. I wrote a bit more about it here. Apart from that, I'll also be catching up on happenings in the zine world, because…

Biological basis for happiness?

Biological basis for happiness?

This is speculation, but it seems likely that happiness may be something naturally selected for.

For example we feel happy after we eat, after sex, around newborn babies and cute kids, etc.

That would support eating enough, procreating, and raising children.
