a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Evil Flower #5 was originally supposed to be a 24 hour zine but after a medication fiasco the goal was extended to 36 hours.
I wrote the content on a typewriter in the basement of the library and made the layout on the floor in the living room.
24 pages 1/4 size. Contains several…

Lonely in Chicago.
It seems strange that in a city of this you can feel pangs of loneliness. I'm waiting for those moments of being in the right place at the right time, having adventures and taking chances. Last week a friend and I were walking aimlessly in my neighborhood and came across a small group of people playing bags on the street. They shared their beer, whiskey, and conversation. It was wonderful. Moments like that are beautiful, but few and far between.
I'd love to meet up with some…

24 Hour Zine: Amina - a zine about a girl
The making of Amina, a zine about a girl.
AMINA is written and drawn – traced, mostly – on the 27th of July (and glued, cut and stapled well into the night of the 28th), while listening to a playlist consisting of Atmosphere, Sage Francis and The Hold Steady.

Call for submissions to Better, Drawn - comics and health issues
Better, drawn is a new place for people to share stories about long-term and chronic mental and physical illnesses, told in the form of short comics. The site is a way for people to share experiences that might otherwise be difficult to talk about openly. In fact, we think that sometimes things can be said better when they’re drawn; hopefully, these comics might help some people…

I haven't been here in a long time! Not since I first made Evil Flower #4. I think today I will scour We Make Zines, see what I have missed all this time.
A few months ago, at the end of my senior year I made a "zine" as an independent project. Every day for a month instead of going to class I went to the library and worked on this piece of crap that was about stage crew at my high school. It looked like a zine, it read like a zine, but it was nothing like making Evil Flower.…

Call for submissions: psychOUT
Hi all. Consider submitting to psychOUT: a blog for all people to share their stories on their experiences with mental health. Submissions will be put into a printed zine once enough material is collected.
We'd also really appreciate it if people could spread the word. Happy submitting :)

Zine for Berlin
Two weeks ago, the Dutch indie-rapper Macronizm asked me to join him for a show in Berlin. I translated some of my poems and made a mini-zine out of one of them. I had short of two days to complete it.
The zine contains the poem 'Die Kolchose'. I made 100 minizines, all numbered and stamped and packed in a neat little envelope, which I left at all kinds of places in Berlin.…

How Your Brain is Different than a Conservative's
A recent study proves that liberals/progressives have more gray matter in a part of the brain related to understanding complexity, while the conservative brain is bigger in the section linked to fear. Scientists have now shown that progressives and conservative brains are actually built differently. Liberals/progressives have more gray matter in a part of the brain associated with understanding complexity, while the conservative brain is bigger in the…

Pieces #6: on commuting is available!
This zine took a long while to make. The writing was slow, the editing was slow, I moved house, then the cutting and pasting and scanning and printing, all of it was slower than I would have liked. But as they say, good things come to those who wait, right?
Pieces #6 is an 86-page, 1/4 size…

Updating
Hurrah! After avoiding this site for a year or more due to difficulties in editing my page, I have finally realised all I needed to do was use a different browser (Internet Explorer rather than Opera, if that helps anyone else). I have deleted old photos & added some more current pics, but will be adding more info shortly, now that I can! I have more zines available than you will see in the photos - please check out my blogs for further details:
