This is a continuation of a zine I'm hoping to produce regularly called "This Is The End," all about the end of the world, the Apocalypse, etc. Because it's only 8 pages long and contains one piece that's already available online, the whole thing is available as a PDF. The only thing you have to do is click this link… Continue

An Appeal for Snail Mail

I was reading a article from a Sunday magazine (on a Monday) and saw an article about the "lost art of letter writing". It featured letters from a national archive. It also said that in today's world, we send emails trying to say things in the shortest way possible, while writing a letter takes time to think of what you want to say and write in the correct tone and so on.

It made me nostalgic for when I was about ten or eleven. I was determined to have a penpal, and somehow got ahold…

Newsletter for July!

So, it took a while, but summer has finally come to the northwest. A week ago I was wearing three layers of sweaters and now I'm wearing short shorts. It's pretty good. A couple things- one, bestsellers. The list I made at the end of last year seemed to be a total hit (everybody love lists), so I made one for the first half of this year. I also made a whole pile of new bookmark/flyers (four different… Continue

Philly 2010 Zine Fest??

I really want to go this year, but can't find anything about a 2010 zine fest. Everything I come across is dated for 2009. Anyone know what's going on? Will there be a Philly zine fest this year?

WMZ art quiz - test your art smarts

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of:

Time for summer reading. But not all books are the same. Some are awful. When you get one, remember this quote,"The covers of this book are too far apart." Who said that?

IS
Ambrose Bierce. Be sure to check out his "The Devil's Dictionary".

I had no correct eligible answers. Seems the covers of your brain are NOT too far…

Permanent Press

I have never met the photographer of this image in person, but I have known him (Damon) for about 5 years now. We were similarly introduced to each other's works through Myspace, and there has always been a mutual appreciation of the things we create.

A few weeks ago, Damon sent me the photograph of one of his models sittin' in the laundromat reading a copy of the first issue of Kung Fu Grip! zine. I was surprised and flattered to see that… Continue

Monster Islands

Monster Islands

By Paco D. Taylor

In the classic giant monster movies of Japan, the islands of the South Pacific are home to three of Tokyo's biggest threats: Godzilla, Giant Beast Gappa and King Kong. In real life, these islands are home to some of the biggest threats to anthropology classes…

Looking For Submissions - please read!!

So, I have suffered from anxiety and depression since I was…a lot younger than I am now. And what I’ve noticed in terms of zines that address this issue is that the majority focus on ONE PERSON’S EXPERIENCE. There are the odd few that have other people’s stories as well, and I have found these to be the most helpful. Of course, all of the zines that focus on this issue are helpful in their own ways.

The problem with campaigns regarding mental illness is they tell you that you…
