Terrible Carpal Tunnel Pain Last Night

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to make a post like this, but i want to record it somewhere.  I had a similar experience a few years ago I recorded on eHealthforum.com, and was going to do it there, but apparently my last post dropped off their "archive", so I decided to do it here.  I've "whined" about it on Vegan Fitness Forum often enough, that I thought I'd better not bug them about it anymore.

Last night I had one of the worst bouts of "burning, aching, numbness" in…

6 Tips from Writing Workshops: Opening Lines, Content, & Revision

This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending an all-day set of writing workshops at Richard Hugo House in Seattle. Since I have been learning to beat writer's block, this day was a necessary shock to my system - an entire day of learning, writing, and revising is just what I needed! And, because I believe in the power of sharing, I thought I would disclose…

semiautomatic guns in zines

although theres been some incredible articles written in zines lately-i mean, who ever knew how tough it was for white people out there-but one thing that has never been mentioned in any of these great, amazingly god like zines of mass distribution-is semiautomatic guns, and thier place in the zine world.now, most zines are devoted to way more important issues facing the world-like the author,or thier opinion,or thier sexuality,or the author,or,sometimes a zinester(or,"loser")might write about… Continue

In this perzine bitchfest, I force myself to relive my ever-so-brief glory days of working at a comic store (two weeks worth) and paying the price of watching The Gong Show in public. Plus, very brief notes on surviving Mardi Gras and the vortexes in Sedona, Arizona…and then yer standard reviews.

This sucker is 12 B&W pages, 8 x 11 and comes with a $2 price tag. No trades to prisoners!

Caught My Eye: Dear Sugar Column at The Rumpus

As I was trying to rouse myself from a literary stupor this week, I searched around the internet for some inspiration to fill myself up until I could no longer stand the feeling of not writing. One of the articles that I came across that most inspired me was The Rumpus' column…

Zine Classifieds?

I love to browse the classifieds in the Zine Worlds and send out random postcards and notes to the people that are looking for penpals, submissions, mail art and the like. So, I'm playing with the idea of making a zine centered around classifieds like the Classifieds section in the Zine Worlds. I would love to hear what people think about this idea. If you think it's a good idea, send me some info for your own zinester classified ad. It could be for swaps, handouts, mail art, penpals, or…

Should be writing..

I made my first zine (and so far the only perzine I have ever finished) back in 2002. I was about 16/17 and was very proud of it even though I rushed to get it finished in time for a concert.

The last zine I made was back in 2005/2006 (I can't remember which year exactly).

With 2011: The Revenge of Print I was all set with enthusiasm and ideas to do zines this year.

I have various bits of paper around with what I wanted to have in issue two of On A Sugar High. Skipping…

Creative Every Day (CED) Roundup: Bears, Knitting, and Growing Ideas

My Creative Every Day hopes this week were somewhat diminished as I found that I had a lot of ideas, but nowhere to go with them - thus, next week's goal will be implementing those ideas and seeing how it all turns out. The pictures this week reflect my new sweaterdress project at different stages of its completion, my urge to draw bears, and some design changes to The Cowation logo in order to fit with the Facebook parameters - speaking of which, you…

7 Lessons I Learned from Re-Watching Buffy

As I noted briefly in the last Caught My Eye post, my boyfriend and I have been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer like fiends ever since I was blessed with the power of Netflix. Since there's nothing like a little '90s programming to get my… Continue

1.   [What if???]
found on the Moon
a Rosetta Stone!
2. [simple poem, double meaning]
I turn around

it's hard to see
anything clearly
Moon you conjuror you -
taking in rays of the sun
into your gray and barren land.
