A few months ago I jokingly started the Artists Against Wankers Action Group (AAWAG) after experiencing a particularly harsh social environment at an exhibition opening. The reason? Too many art wankers. Some friends immediately expressed interest in the group and since then I have always… Continue

Dirty Smut - inspired through my fine arts course. The content is basically arty porn-related or sexually inspired images. Its not really explicit at all, a little bit, maybe. I have been told it is "shocking... but a good shocking". I like that.
Some drawings, a little writing, photos of friends, all content is self-produced.… Continue

It's been such a busy couple of weeks for me lately at work that i haven't had much time to do anything creative! it's such a pain having to work full time whilst doing a college course, prepping for an exhibition and finishing this first zine, but i guess i have to pay my bills!
Apart from the stress and lack of sleep I'm feeling pretty positive and happy :)
Now i'm focussing on college and this zine which luckily my tutors have said i can use it as one… Continue
fat girl(s) sketch
lately, between scribbling in little books and promptly losing them, i've been working on a new project with Ang (altermyworld from Canada). we're doing a fat positive sketchbook project where we swap signatures, draw, paint, write, glue, collage, and embellish. eventually we'll each have enough signatures (with work from both… Continue
The answer to, and winner (if any) for,

And one morning going into the workshop of Giotto, who was at his labours, he showed him the mind of the Pope, and at last asked him to give him a little drawing to send to his Holiness. Giotto,… Continue

Regeneration 32 pages, half size $2 US, $3 outside US, trades accepted Ashlee Swanson 8150 W 30 ½ St. #306 St. Louis Park, MN 55426 email@example.com
For those of us who trembled at the thought that there was no replacement generation of zine-creators, think again. Ashlee Swanson's excellent zine on the confusing, twentysomething experience is a fine representation of the next generation of zinesters.
Here's a nice interview with me. It's also about the MCA zine fair which is coming up next weekend. Last year it was so busy that I momentarily lost a shoe when trying to push through the crowds. This year I will dress more sturdily.

Alex Wrekk of "Stolen Sharpie Revolution" and "Brainscan" zine fame will be doing a reading at the 56a Infoshop next week! This is the last date on her UK "tour". Robb Roemershauser of Aboveground zine library in New Orleans will also be speaking with her - he lived through Hurricane Katrina, and was instrumental in opening the library soon after the disaster. I saw him speak at the London… Continue
I finished issue #8 of RatBrat yesterday! Well, the editing and cut & paste portion. I'm going to be copying it tomorrow. This issue is more fun than issue #7 and talks mostly about body image, including my feelings about my own body, a list of creative ways to combat negative body image, and a piece on bindis as a form of body decoration. I also talk about labels, belonging, and my own interpretations of the words "bisexual" and "bicurious." Threw in a few poems I wrote a couple months ago… Continue
