This review first appeared on the Feminist Review website
( http://feministreview.blogspot.com/search?q=Chantel+Guidry)
(Sadly, I lost the ring before this review was even published. I just hope the person who found it loves it as much as I did.)
I found another beautiful piece of jewelry on Etsy. I was looking at member profiles on We Make Zines and found a link to a fellow zinester’s Etsy shop. I like seeing cool things other imaginative folks have made, so I…

Do folks know about the Queer Zine Archive Project? I just discovered it. I plan to spend some time (when I have some time) exploring the QZAP website.
Here's the web address: http://www.qzap.org/v5/index.php
Here's some info about the QZAP:
The Queer Zine Archive Project (QZAP) was first launched in November 2003 in an effort to preserve queer zines and make them available to other queers, researchers, historians, punks, and anyone else who has an interest DIY…

I was supposed to go to the Bash Back gathering in Chicago this weekend, but my friend had to change her plans when she got a gig to photograph a wedding down South. I decided not to go alone.
Some friends of mine have a
lovely loft with huge west facing windows and hundreds of books on shelves lining the walls. They said I could spend the weekend here writing. I've been fortunate enough to make myself my own free, four day writing retreat.
So far I've used the time…

Many years ago I recorded my song, “AOL CAN GO AND TANK TOMORROW.
Seems they have. Or rather Time Warner has dumped AOL as announced today. Here’s some info and a link to my song.
As Variety Magazine writes, ”The merger with AOL was announced with great fanfare in early 2000 and closed a year later. It touched off a round of giant media mergers as other companies feared being left behind in a volatile media landscape. Time Warner changed its name to AOL Time…

Philly Zine Fest is going strong, with a date set for our 2009 fest at the Rotunda in West Philly: Sunday September 20, 2009. Last year we had a great turnout, with distros and zinesters from across the mid Atlantic and Northeast showing up, as well as several workshops and cheap eats. We'll keep everyone posted with more details as they become available!

(or home zine libraries/personal zine libraries), I realize I have a fair amount of quite good zines in multiple copies that I don't distro and I'm a little unsure what to do with. I've donated to all the local zine libraries, so thought I'd throw it out there that, if anybody wanted an envelope of random zines to add to their collection, I would totally send an envelope like that yr way. I would just need a couplefew dollars for shipping. It would probably be 5 or so zines...let me know if…

You Might Be A Junkie If....
You are searching the internet for survival tips on how to live with heroin addiction.
You only eat really sweet cereal out of cups or glasses.
You buy food with the few dollars in change you scrounge up after finding a ten dollar bill tucked away for emergencies.
You don't hang out with people unless you are on dope (social precaution)
You don't own a tooth brush.
You like Miles Davis a little too…

The first is "CODE RINGS ON", a puzzle. It's TOUGH. I first published it many years ago with no one even attempting to solve it. So We'll try again.
The 2nd, "PAINT LIKE POLLACK" is a website where you can paint like Pollock. See the url and some tips. Thanks to the Art and Seek Blog for this idea.
The 3rd is "RIVErDALE RELATED" . Thanks to my sister Peggy for this…

A new zine shop is soon to open in Adelaide and while in itself this is a great thing, it won’t survive on its own. They’ll be needing you dearly right now to fill those shelves and tables with your amazing zines. The shop will be opening on Sunday 7 June at a premises on 23 Peel St [between Hindley &…

Today I put in my time to Razorcake a D.I.Y. music fanzine. To sound extremely trite I think it's great...I wonder why whenever something has to do with writing my writing voice sounds so 3rd grade and valley girl except I'm 28 and a man? Anywho, it's tough in this day and age for such an endeavor to survive and Razorcake is celebrating its 50th issue. I'm proud to say I have some record reviews in but I'm not going to tote my horn anymore. Overall the 50th…
