Life inst like magazines or tv

I always wonderd why in tv and magazines that to be somebody you have to skinny , cake up in make up and make fool of yourself. Why can't be people you dont have sleep with strangers or its okay chubby around the edges. I don't care about being perfect because i dont care what people think, the only person you have to make happy is yourself not this dumb magazine airbrush people who dont even know who they are.

Midwest Zine Fest 2013

It was a good first time for me at the Midwest Zine Fest in Champaign Urbana.  (Or, as craigslist calls it, "Chambana.")  The fest was on the Urbana side.  I drove down with friends Nicki and Meghan from SPOC -Self Publishers of Chicago, and they had a table.  I had my Junk Drawer table, which was actually two old card tables I brought.  Other Chicago writers making the trip included…

Please subscribe to my free zine!

I am a REAL zinester I promise! I published 12 issues of my paper zine. Problem is no one wants to cough up a buck for a zine anymore so I decided to switch to an e-zine. I need subscribers though. It gets sent out twice a month and only has one ad. Please subscribe. It's free! Thanks!

Sayings of Editor Art - the made for tv version

The real scary monster for 12 year old boys is puberty.

The media's job is to not only report the problem, but also the solutions. That's the 2nd half of the story.

Child reply to Mom: I bet dinosaurs didn't have manners!

Funny the older my photos are, the younger I look!

Just like the zero advance math, so the eraser advanced art.

Nature seems to tell us that God is not a melodramatic God, but a methodical one.

excerpt from When The Crash Meets Something Solid issue #005: Things to Embarrass Mother

inside this month of broken skin

and bitten lips

(while some shiver

and i melt)

you make me remember why the sky must grow dark,

why my skin grows cold

as one breath precedes another.

i have learned the difference

between sorrow

and pure motion,

between regret and the agony

of wanting

that snaps every blue flower

and spits ice into the skies.

there is no easy…

excerpt from When The Crash Meets Something Solid issue #010 : Strip It To The Bone

Begin here.  I set my thermostat to 82 degrees, and listen to my daughter breathe at night.

It is an odd thing to miss you.  The stillness that I feel inside myself has a quality that I cannot name.  Now it’s bitter.  Now it’s sweet.  The taste is all iron and cardamom deep inside my mouth.

It’s been a strange year.

All summer long, I drank and drank.  And drank.  Thirsty Thursdays on the Blue Ox…

SEPT 2012

this house smells like old coffee
and something else-
some cross between dirty
women's underwear
and dinners i let burn
... before i threw away.
i am rarely there; i leave
the windows open all day
everyday.  walk through the door.
vanish into bed each night.

Candles (a quatro)

Candles… (a quatro)

and matches

What is a QUATRO. It’s a new type of very very short poetry that usually compares two things, in a haiku – way, packing a lot of meaning in a very small amount of words. There is usually a very real comparison, and behind it a 2nd deeper meaning. I see many readers seem to like these – great! Pass your favorites around if you want – Tom Hendricks

Forging Famous Authors Autographs for Fun and Profit

Making comics and getting them printed was my first attempt to go legit.I was doing alot of side jobs-running paper. As a great artist,I had a marketable skill level;phony i.d.'s and forgery, mostly.I could forge anything. My connect's used to bring me stolen checks, and I could do any signature ever.I really wanted to make engraving plates someday.I made great fake i.d.'s.Painted state seals on with glitter nail polish.I was breaking into storage units and stealing books to sell, and I got a…

How do you end corporate art?

When I started my zine Musea in 1992 the mission was clear, Support the best of Independent artists of all kind, and oppose the abuses of Corporate art. What is corporate art? It's those handful of mega-corporations - often called the Big Six - that control the majority of this country's music, film, radio, publishing, media etc.

So when someone on a newsgroup asked me, 'how do you oppose corporate art', I answered with this:

Here's my solution to ending corporate art from… Continue

Sayings of Editor Art - the made for TV version

Sayings of Editor Art – The Road Trip
All thunder, no rain.

Women are oblivious to how provocatively they are dressed; but let another woman show too much and they see that immediately!

Spring visits every town.

You don’t get married to shake hands.

It’s a capital idea that just needs capital.

The Telescope (poem)

Readers, I am working on part two of the Musea issues connected to my sci-fi novel in progress. Here is a poem that will be a part of that work. From Writing In Science - Sci fi Novel, Poem Collection. See the musea.us website , latest issue for more:

the telescope
runs by itself
swivels here and there
in search of a light source
a galaxy lit
in the ever night
placing it finally
in an ongoing atlas
of time and place -
floating coordinates.
