This is the first new issue in quite a while. Its got a few stories about being a hermit living in North Idaho and trying to stay connected to the very urban world of punk rock as well as a few short interviews with some musicians I dig. I love and welcome trades, otherwise send me a buck, or a nice letter, or creative email.

Hello all! I've written a new Examiner article! This time I dive into the how-to world of how to make a zine. Obviously, we all know that there is no right or wrong way to make a zine, but hey, there are lots of people out there who don't think so!… Continue

This is the first zine I've done in about two years and it's a split zine. It is seperated in two parts, my story first and then Cheo's. I write about my own existence and my conflicts with it. The writing isn't very definitive, everything is open ended and reaches to a conclusion of trying to be more capable and carry out existence.
excerpt: "I want a change to happen within the minute. Why do I lack this patience? Is that immense… Continue

Here is Musea’s annual Oscar wrap up from Melanie Pruit. (It is long so after the "intermission' click on the link for the rest.)
So history was made last night at the Oscars, not only with the selection of the first ever female winner for Best Director (Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker), but also the first time… Continue

Hello and welcome to yet another month of the year. It's an early spring here in the northwest part of the U.S. and things are plugging away as usual here at Ms Valerie Park, plenty of newness and many exciting things on their way. The spring seems so ripe with projects, tours, and travel, that I doubt I'll get a proper night's sleep until the end of June, but I'd like to think I'm ok with that. Hope all you out there are doing just as fine (but hopefully getting more sleep).… Continue

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of:
Just about a year ago to the day (give or take less than a week) the world saw an auction of an artists possessions that garnered a little under one half of a BILLION dollars. Yes BILLION with a "B". And this, as you remember was during the year when everyone had lost their money and banks were being bailed out. This was the largest auction of any private individual ever seen. Name the artist. Good… Continue

That's right, it's a sale! For every order for the rest of the month, you have the option of getting one zine that is equal to or lesser than the value of the most expensive zine in your order for FREE! For example, if the most expensive zine in your order is $3, you can choose one extra zine that is $3 or less to be included free of charge! To take advantage of this offer, next time you place an order just type into the “notes” field which zine you’d like for free — don’t add it to your… Continue

Mishap #27, the special book issue, is in at Microcosm distro.
#28 should be there soon.
I'd be interested how many people buy their zines from distros versus direct from the zinester. Somebody with a grant should study that and let me know.
I like how the description of #27 on the distro page says "inauspicious cover", which is another way to say "boring." The simple cover--only words, no pictures--was intentional: the zine was for readers and the cover lets… Continue

I got the pleasant surprise of praise and thought I'd share it with the zine community. It comes from We Love You So, a website that seems to have a big readership, since I've already heard a lot of feedback from this, in just a couple days time. If you happen to know these folks, tell them thanks for me.
