Just a quick note to everyone who sent stuff in for Carpe Noctem 5- I just found out that I have to move out of my house, so the zine will be delayed while I find a new place to hang my hat.

I've got a new (excellent and cheap) printing place, so I've reprinted back issues of all my zines on recycled coloured paper (except for the purple stuff). (The red looking one is actually pink, and the lime looking one mint green too, I should add too, the tungsten wb on my camera doesn't seem to like those shades)… Continue

Does NPR stand for quality in music coverage? Not according to art revolutionary, musician, and editor of the zine Musea ,Tom Hendricks who has challenged the NPR music staff to a 200 song music challenge - the biggest in history. Hendricks calls it the "Trendy Versus Quality" 200 song challenge. He's suggested that NPR can choose any 200 recent songs covered on NPR versus his best of world music on the internet list.… Continue

My boyfriend's 1st zine which I designed the cover! We are going on a Northwest tour of the United States for activism and.. just plain exploring. It is a 32 page, poetry book. Here's some information from him:
In May I plan on visiting fusion centers in 6 different states in the Northwest United States. I will hopefully be speaking at activist trainings along the way also. Instead of going the normal route of asking for donations to fund the entire trip, I want to go a different… Continue

Just wanted to share that my band NIghtwood is thinking of embarking on a wee zine project and we've set up a poll to gather your opinions as to what we should write about.
We posted a blog about this today called We (heart) zines, do you?
There's also info about a zine making workshop in Montreal that's

Just sold out of a couple things and it just made me realize how many things are almost gone! So I made a list. Most of these are down to their last 1 or 2 copies and are going to be out of print when they're gone. The rest I'm just very unsure how long it will take to get them back in. So, it's yr last chance for most of these! We'll be taking them off as they sell out, so if the links don't work, that's why.… Continue

This issue talks about an abusive relationship and getting out of it, first sexual encounters, sexual and emotional abuse, the basics of BDSM and how it
differs from abuse, queer identity, and silence, among other things. The
quote translates to "Pain and death are less involuntary than the
choice of desire."

So, about a month ago we started an Etsy page
and we've been slowly adding more and more to it. While it represents less than half our stock, it does seem a little more focused towards to the interest of our fellow zinesters and has a bettter shipping scale than our website, especially for international orders. We're setting up a new website, which will have a better shopping cart, but until then, I might point you folks who want to… Continue

It was super cool to be at the Chicago Zine Fest. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Junk Drawer table. I'm glad people enjoyed playing "Guess the Odds & Ends." I only wish I'd had more time to spend at all the other tables. There were so many great zines and zinesters there. Feel free to write your comments about the zine fest, junk drawers, or anything from the zine fest weekend. Looking forward to next year.

Well, I wholly failed to put the details of yesterday's Blacktown zine fair on this here blog. Anyway, the chances are that if you are an Australian zine enthusiast you're in Adelaide for Format, and wouldn't have been able to come...
So, it was a very small fair but great nonetheless, with a nice relaxed vibe and lots of friendly people to chat with. We sold a whole lot of zines. I'm going to do another zine post on Flying Machine soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
Thanks to… Continue
