Hanson, a failed Spec Ops sergeant with a chequered past and a head full of demons, has been transferred to Crowley Island, an abandoned goverment centre where the dead and the damned feed on the living. Crowley Island was once a Necro-research facility. Hundreds were maimed and killed in the government’s quest for occult knowledge. Until one day, they succeeded in opening a Door. But what came through wasn’t what they had hoped. It was Hell. And now the only thing standing between that and the…

the other day i finally got off my ass and mailed out eighteen packages of zines to awaiting traders/orderers (including folks from the mini zine swap here on we make zines) as well as just some friends, all of the motor city kitty club members, and a few distros. its taken so long due to being snowed in for about two weeks in january, broke til february, then totally busy due to djing twice a week, school, two jobs and a social life. and maybe a tiny bit of procrastination. i'd gotten some…

things have gone a little crazy here in my little corner of the world. i spent the last few months caring for my very sick doggie, and he finally lost the fight against his body and the medications he was taking on March 15. in all that time, i pretty much dropped offline, and i'm slowly trying to catch up with emails and things.
i've still got a…

Karl Wenclas, the main person behind the organization of the Underground Literary Alliance, has started a PEN Protest at
http://www.penpetition.blogspot.com/
This from the petition page:
PEN was created as an organization to protect and defend dissenting, outcast, and marginalized writers. PEN American Center makes this its mission-- except in America itself! In these economic hard times, impoverished writers shut out by the monied academies and conglomerates…

I sent my zine in to ColorLines magazine for review and they were nice enough, and interested enough, to publish my article about photographer Alvin Baltrop online. Go here to check it out: www.colorlines.com.
Also, they're gonna run a little one-page thing on Shotgun Seamstress in their July/August 2009 issue.
For those of you who've never heard of ColorLines:
ColorLines has been the national newsmagazine on race and
politics since 1998. We tell stories from…

My favorite line encountered while cataloging zines today
"Show me a man wearing an American flag pin on his lapel, and I'll show you an asshole."

It's out now, actually it's been out for quite a wee while now but for all those who don't live in Melbourne Australia, gimme a buzz if you want some top-shelf smut delivered to your door.

Hi,
Hope all is as well as can be. I finished Mishap #26 and had it copied up a couple weeks ago. It is 24 pages, half book reviews. There are bumper sticker reviews, a story about how punk teachers should learn from the hippie teachers of the seventies and eighties, and a look at two crimes--one involving a bomb and the other a backhoe. Trade is best, $1+stamp. PO Box 5841 Eugene OR 97405, usa
I turned 35 last month and I've been doing zines since 1992 turned into 1993. Before…

Just finished the newest GreenLight, which is a DIY Guide to Cleveland. GL is usually a sustainability zine, but we felt like we needed a guide to everyone's favorite Cleveland spots. If you're living in the Cleveland area or are visiting soon... or just want to know more about some Cleveland gems, this is for you! I'm up for trading or you can order it at loralovesohio.etsy.com.
We also just launched a new website, which is pretty sweet! Check that out at greenlightzine.org!

"Ax Wound is my favorite critical horror magazine. The articles are intelligent, funny, insightful, and incredibly entertaining. These girls know their gore, and they make you want to re-watch all your favorite films with a whole new perspective. I love it and highly recommend it to any horror fan." -Eli Roth

In a world of misses heres a 100 Plus HITS!
Readers,
Have you had a chance to look at the latest print issue of Musea (#167 Mar.'09)? It's the big best-100-new-music-of-the-entire-world, music list issue. It's been getting a lot of notice from ... well all over the world. The London Symphony Orchestra sent me a nice e-mail, thank you - they made the list for their Youtube Symphony Idea, and so did a video by the Trons, an all machine combo from Australia. Plus much…
