I've been easing myself into some bigger zine projects, but I've just finished two small ones that are super cheap!
First is Pocket Guide. It's my self-care manifesto, kind of a really long New Year's resolution in zine form.…

1. Jesus Christ Superzine #1
has released its second (revised) edition. Now, I know it's not common for zinesters to do (or at least announce) this, but Ariel isn't the most common of zinesters. Don't worry, it hasn't become a slick, glossy thing, just edited, added to, and a touch easier to read. Description: The second edition of Ariel Birks'… Continue

Now I have lead a relatively sheltered Zine existence…
And by that I mean I have been making things that fall under the wide world of Zine goodness for a long while… I just haven't been involved in the community so to speak.
As of late I have been very drawn into the fold as it were.
I have found that the more Zinesters I encounter the more friendly responses and support I get.
So I naturally seemed to gravitate towards this community.
I believe the internal… Continue

After doing a little bit of searching online, I discovered that, not only does my home town (Brisbane, Aus) have a zine scene, we have our own zine library run by the council!
You can use the photocopiers (not sure how much it costs just yet) and resources to create your zine, and then you can just add it to the library for the world to see!
If you live in Brisbane, don't hesitate to become my friend! I'm looking for other zinesters to share this… Continue

Well I'm trying to find the time / inspiration to get my first zine off the ground. It's going to be a short illustrated story, about a girl who is born with pencils instead of hands.
First images are coming soon.
Also, I'm looking to compile a few zines with my artwork and writings, but I feel strange and a little self absorbed doing something like that. Anyone got any ideas for themes?
