a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Hi, everybody. I disappeared off here for awhile, due to personal problems - I've gots the anxiety! And all sorts of other things! Anyways, I am back and looking to trade. That's pretty much what I am on here for... So, hit me up! A list of my zines is below. I have a perzine, Plague Doctor, and some mini fanzines about movies and music, which are not just reviews but how I relate to the art, personally. Once again, feel free to contact me about trading or anything else for that matter. Oh, yeah... I am sorry, but I can only trade within the US at this time...
Plague Doctor #1 (1/4 size, 20 pages)
About why I hated zines for awhile, some of my morbid poems, drawings, thoughts on hiding who you really are, why I kinda hate therapy, etc, etc!
Plague Doctor #2 (1/4 size, 20 pages)
About pets of Christmas past and present, things I love in my life and things I hate, more morbid poems, good memories of people I now hate, a review of my favorite album, and oh so much more!
Plague Doctor #3 (1/4 size, 20 pages)
About quitting facebook, the best shitty movie ever, favorite artists and authors, what it is like on an average day to have schizoaffective disorder, random weird memories of yore, true crime crap, and even more!
Plague Doctor #4 (1/4 size, 16 pages)
About extreme anxiety and depression! The two are very prominent in my life right now... So I wrote a zine about it. Also included are poems and collages. And so on...
Schmovies #1 (1/8 size mini zine, 8 pages)
About the movie One Hour Photo, starring Robin Williams in one of his non-comedic roles. Explores isolation that leads to desperation.
Schmovies #2 (1/8 size mini zine, 8 pages)
About the movie Funny Games, starring Naomi Watts, Tim Roth and Michael Pitt. Explores rich, white male privilege and where art and reality intersect.
Schmovies #3 (1/8 size mini zine, 8 pages)
About my favorite director, Todd Solondz, who creates extremely polarizing films. Be aware that this zine contains talk of pedophilia and rape, in case you can't handle that sort of thing.
Schmovies #4 (1/8 size mini zine, 8 pages)
About cartoon character crushes. Yes, you read that right. Obviously a very deep and high brow zine.
Schmovies #5 (1/8 size mini zine, 8 pages)
About Raging Bull, the Scorsese film, starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Cathy Moriarty. Explores the concept of low self esteem being a form of egocentrism.
Schmusic #1 (1/8 size mini zine, 8 pages)
About the albums Johnny Cash did towards the end of his life, The American series. I talk about a friend I had who died and how vulnerability can actually be a form of strength.
Schmusic #2 (1/8 size mini zine, 8 pages)
About Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album, Skeleton Tree. Explores the concept of being self deprecating about pain, as opposed to raw about it. And, with Nick Cave, I had to talk a bit about the misogyny in some of his music.
